pv4 wrote:Jerks confirm they will not use a membership counter Quote:Hi pv4,
At this stage it doesn't look like we'll be using a Membership counter on our website this season. We will keep our supporters updated each time we pass a milestone (8,000, 9,000 etc) with posts on social media and a website story.
We've signed up more than 7,500 Members at this stage.
Thanks,
Newcastle Jets. Jerks It's not good for business to point out how you have failed your supporters. Our continued bad form, GVE and an overwhelming dissatisfaction from the community between Tinks, the Knights and poor recruiting has seen many people refuse to renew their memberships. I think we'll be luck to crack 10000 this year but we won't reach last years target.

Care to email them again iridium? Too soon. Some people have posted them the same question via the Official FB page - one of those questions getting likes and follow up discussion - but no response from Glory's Official FB account manager, not yet! :/ If ever, at this stage. ](*,) But anyway, to be reasonable, given how long they have taken to unveil the member packs and give notices for renewing members and probably length of time taken to sort renewals... I guess we may have to wait a couple weeks before they'd be even half ready to announce ANY numbers. So time frame - entering into September? (No sarcasm, I'm serious)? Glory are 'exceptional' so hence the anticipation building - we're the lucky last. Fashionably late to the party. The crowd starts to gather infront of the big, purple, curtain. The vacant space in Joffa's updates just builds a momentum that will only burst to life as the final, mysterious piece in Joffa's updates, unveils itself with an almighty, anti-climatic thud at this rate! Well that's kind of cool! I gotta admire the kind of building community, movement, you guys have got going up there, at your 'little battler' of a club. Every season building more groundwork locally. Mark Waugh getting on-board a good little get and further gets the name of the club out there, locally. EVERYONE's getting on-board! Edited by GloryPerth: 16/8/2013 10:21:30 PM

WSW announced 14,800 at the Canberra match.
Waugh is from Bankstown, he's betraying the Wanderers :o

Looks like SFC are averaging about 44 per day in the last weeks, that's on track for about 9,800, pretty close to the target of 10,000
That would be a huge growth on last years, hopefully it keeps up or even accelerate closer to the season proper.

What's everyones thoughts on the totals by round 1? I will make my 'membership ladder'. There are a few sides within touching distance of each other so will be interesting to hear what everyone thinks!
1. Melbourne Victory (21,400 - big club, will surpass their goal 23k during the season I think) 2. West Sydney Wanderers (16,500 - Not sure what the go is with the cap, but will reach it, have to hand it to the FFA they have done this well) 3. Sydney FC (11,100 - good marketing through off season by placing a large emphasis on memberships, ADP factor and the WSW factor) 4. Newcastle Jets (10,200 - will do well despite last season results, so cheap, everyone loves Heskey) 5. Brisbane Roar (6,700 - love the ambition but won't get to 10k, but with Matty signing and a solid squad they should still beat their previous record) 6. Melbourne Heart (6,500 - Have a solid base but don't get enough supporters past their membership base. Have arguably one of the best HAL squads and hopefully this figure will rise after the season begins with good results, Kewell factor too) 7. Adelaide United (6,200 - A single team city and general increase in HAL interest will see their memberships hopefully reach a new record) 8. Perth Glory (5,900 - Haven't got anything previous to go off but with NIB being completed and much like Adelaide seeing a general increase in HAL interest will see them settle around this figure) 9. Central Coast Mariners (5,200 - Would love to see them reach their goal and think they will, have marketed it really well and is all over their social media. Cheap prices too and successful side) 10. Wellington Phoenix (4,100 - Also think they will reach their goal, for some reason they never seem to be associated with big names, I think a big name (not that it will happen) would give the Phoenix a huge increase in interest but still think they will reach their target a set a new record)
I think most teams will hit or go very close to their goals apart from Adelaide and Brisbane who were a tad ambitious (nothing wrong with that but).

Are your figures what you think ... MV 21.4 SFC 11.1 Jest 10.2 Roar 6.7 Heart 6.5 AU 6.2 PG 5.9 CCM 5.2 Nix 4.1...
They seem achievable ... would be feather in the cap if the A-League could get these numbers...
