In fairness to the thread, the Jerks article said "nearly 8000 members" - don't think we're at 8000 yet

Yeah you can actually travel to North Korea these days through a state-run guided tour. You just take a train from China across the border.

The combined wages of the sydney players that are counted towards the salary cap are less than the allowed salary cap.

Stoked memberships are going well, hoping some big signing can boost the numbers as they are stalling

It would be good to see how each club is going compared to last season. It hasn't been shown for a while.

Central Coast - 3,360 This time last year they were on 2300 46% increase
Heart - 3,866 This time last year they were on 3300 17% increase
Newcastle - 7,500 This time last year they were on 7885 5% decrease
Perth - This time last year they were on 5000
Sydney - 7,551 Took them till september 9th to pass 7000
Victory - 16,103 This time last year they were on 12174 32% increase
Wellington - 2,480 Last years total was roughly 3000 83% of the way to last years total
West Sydney - 14,919 This time last year they were on 1400 1065% increase

Total memberships sold - 63,343 This time last year the total memberships sold was 46,559(this includes Perth @5k, Syd @7k and Nux @3K) 36% increase

Looking good so far this year, tbf the wanderers did contribute about half of the gains but still most teams are up on last year.

Hasn't been too long, i posted this on the 19th. I do another one in a few days but keep in mind last year the updates we a-lot more infrequent so some of these won't have changed at all.

Next season i suspect will be a-lot more frequent but I'm just working with what i've got :d

Melbourne Heart have had Harry Kewell (perhaps other players too) on the phones encouraging past members to resign which I believe is the driving force behind our recent spike (albeit small, but bigger than usual) in membership sales...I think we've had some 60 sign up since this morning.

NB: Usually it has been around 15-25 per day

Which is great to see.

Hopefully more clubs try this as it connects the players to the fans. Such a call can really make a young person, in particular, connect to the club, which helps drives lifetime support.

MH have seen a considerable uptick in its membership rate in the last few days.

Overall, some good numbers being seen. SFC must feel a little behind its newer brother (WSW) though

Why? People don't need to become members of SFC to see all the matches, for a lot of people it just doesn't make sense. I got plenty of mates that love SFC but don't want/need a membership to be committed supporters.

Gradual growth in membership after each year is better than receding. One day you will see all your mates buy memberships.
