If they can get the numbers up to 20K even with those prices, it would be a great achievement. If they can get some on field success, their pricing structure will pay off in the longer term.

Two seasons ago Jerks set a target of 10k. Last season they set a target of 11k. This season they haven't set a target, because they knew they wouldn't get it. Their slogan is "in victory and defeat we stand together. Stand with us" - they're basically saying "we're shit and we know we are" and are just happy to take what they can get.
Basically heaps of members have stated to the club that they won't renew their memberships while GVE is there, and the club knows that's the reason. They realise that fans aren't going to continually come back for shit results, and the evidence is there that we're down 1900 members from this time last year.
I've emailed the club several times about how alarming the drop in memberships is, and asking whether they're going to do anything about it, but nor responses.
So in summary - the Jerks have no target this year. They just hope they don't lose too many members from the whole GVE shit results saga.

Interesting that the Mariner Mates memberships is also another 2k.
It would be hard - but interesting to see the count for these supporter memberships.

Got a sort-of update from the Jerks: My email to them wrote:Hi guys
I was just wondering what the number of memberships for the Jets is currently at?
The last update we had was 8,000 (although can I assume we're approaching 9000, or at least 8500?). This time last year (Sep 28) the count was 9902.
That is a hugely disappointing decline in memberships, and I (and a lot of fellow Jets fans) were wondering if the club were proactively attempting to turn this trend for the next season, and onwards, and how they were going to do that?
Also I was hoping to voice my displeasure at the items that came in the Membership Pack for my wife and I: - The fridge magnet doesn't actually stick to the fridge (so can I call it a fridge magnet?), and is noticeably a cheaper, tackier looking one than last year. - The keychain has gone from a solid metallic one to a cheaper, tackier looking rubber one with a worse design (the design with the club crest was the best) - Does the $10 voucher replace the membership discount on any item nowadays? I much preferred the idea of getting a membership discount on any merch, as opposed to a one-off $10 voucher.
I hope this email sees the appropriate eyes, and I hope my questions can be answered.

Our Membership total is not far off 9,000. As a Club, we're certainly doing everything we can to be proactive and try to sign-up as many Members as we can before the season starts. A big part of that is contact all those existing Members who are yet to renew and reminding them that the season is about to start.
Thanks for the feedback in regards to the Membership pack. I'll forward that on to our Membership department.
Thanks,
Jerks So we're "not far off 9000"

Thanks,
Jerks So we're "not far off 9000" Awesome complaint........ Keychain looks cheaper, certainly worth an email voicing your displeasure. I supported Con when he wanted to chuck squadron members off the balcony and emails like the one above just reinforce it. Imagine throwing the amount of money the owners do into a club and recieving an email like this. My response, and it would probably lead me down the path Clive took, would be to tell you where to go. Like honestly, an email complaining about a cheap looking keychain..... The Jets can hardly be criticised for their memberships, they are (in my opinion) the best membership department in the HAL. 3 years in a row above 10k for a city that before hand had like 3-4k members. Totally agree with you GVE is rubbish, but the clubs policy appears to be to stick with him and trust him developing young players. We probably agree he is not good enough to do this, but as a policy it is not bad. We would just argue, upon which they would disagree, that he isnt the correct option. In re to memberships, I was in the shop last friday and the member count on the wall was 8,300 odd.

Not sure why Newcastle's is still at 8k. I was in the shop this time last week and it was over 8,300. They have a counter on the wall of the HSG shop. Cant wait for this season - first round will likely have 2 sell outs.

Though, on that, Joffa still needs to ammend the Phoenix figure down slightly to '2939', less we hear otherwise from 'Yellow Fever' or other Phoenix/Phoenix member sources? Though granted, odds are it may even be slightly over 3k, by now. Back to the Jets, going by what you say, it seems Pv4 is indeed right about the count slowing significantly in recent times, given the Jets reached the 8k mark a good couple months or so ago now.
