Do you know the racial context of calling a dark skinned person is?

yes skip is racist, however it doesn't have the multitude of years and derogatory reference connected to it that would make someone feel like a piece of shit.

I was called a Skip at school but all those wogs are forgiven because they only did it to try and get some semblance of power back from feeling vilified for being of a European background. ;)

It's a term that's been used derogatorily against black people for many years. In recent years the over-use of the word in hip hop (And the prevalence of wiggers) means that "nigger" isn't "necessarily racist". Does that mean we should dismiss the use of this term if a person finds it offensive as well?

i was in darwin a few months ago visiting my son before deploying to Afghanistan.......we were out having dinner in the main street of Darwin and as we returned to our cars there were a few Aboriginals sitting on the side walk drinking.......one of them asked me for money....."hey whitey can you give a brother some coin" followed by "c'mon big fella help a brother out" was i offended by the "whitey" comment....nope was more put off by the begging.......Australians have thick skins and let it go through to the keeper....like i have posted earlier i used to be called piglet at school when i was young because my father was a police officer........i don't condone racism, my children are very PC about this and homophobia....however it doesn't mean we don't have the odd jibe and joke about it.....just as we take the piss out of each other and we all know it's all good........
