Have heard from three people now that Hull City are looking to table a contract offer to Mark Schwarzer. Hull are apparently waiting until the Socceroos qualifiers are over to begin discussions, but it sounds like it will obviously be a one year deal.
Newly promoted Hull are without a designated number one as last season they rotated between two on loan keepers in Ben Amos (Manchester United) and David Stockdale (Fulham) - the latter of the two was being kept out of their first team by Schwarzer.
Although, current Beskitas and Scotland goalkeeper Allan McGregor is apparently also on Hull's radar with reports in the UK saying that Hull had already made a £1m offer for the keeper earlier this week, only for the Hull board state that no immediate transfer is imminent.

Have also heard that Nottingham Forest and Leicester City are also interested.

not sure who your references are but hull have already tabled offers to Schmiechel so unless they don't get him I would say then they might sign Mark, but Peter's father is a close friend of his father who obviously played together so more realistic that he would go to the championship.
I think mark should really push for the stars he has plenty of cash, I wonder if wenger would be interested in him if he said he would play on the cheap.

I don't think he'd be getting regular game time at a big club. Provided we qualify for the World Cup, he needs to be playing every week, and the Championship is a decent standard, so it'd be a good fit.

Schwarzer has previously stated his desire to finish his career abroad and reiterated that stance when asked about a return to the A-League. "Not at this stage, no. My family's settled and the kids are in school and I wouldn't move my family anyway," he said http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/aussies-abroad/news/1155019/Schwarzer-set-to-leave-Fulham

But would you risk not getting a proven premier league quality keeper on the cheap or take in a keeper who is untested in the prem league ?

Doesn't mean he won't live part-time somewhere else in Britain. Harry moved to Istanbul without his family, mind you, he did think it was just a suburb in the very north of London at the time but none-the-less..

It's not actually that often that teams change their keeper after promotion.
