Heard through the grape vine gve wants to get this guy back to help mentor his young centre backs for a year or two. I think this would be an invaluable signing for the jets. Underrated IMO

If it is actually true, which I will doubt until there's a bit more noise about it, it would be fucking awesome! His free kicks are brilliant, he's an extremely experienced player and he is still performing at a high enough level to be dominant in the HAL. He'd be a great mentor for Chapman, I'd love to see those two playing alongside each other for us next season.

The Jets really do need some experience in their backline so this would be a really good signing.

the jets squad isn't looking to good for next season. they need to recruit some fire power, they have some great talent in guys like heskey, goodwin and gibbs but they need to recruit some decent visa players and aussies like bosnar if they have any chance of doing well.

Yep, Aust marquee spot still available.

TBH I'm feeling really good about this upcoming year for the Jerks, if GvE doesn't completely ruin us again.

The starting lineup will be something along the lines of:

-------------Biraz---------------
Brillante--Chapman--CB----Goodwin
------Zadkovich--Caravella-------
Taggart--------CAM---------Brown
--------------Heskey-------------

This is under the assumption they sign our needed CB and CAM. If not, and the Burns rumours are true, hopefully Brown can refind his form and can go CAM and Burns out left. Or we can leave Goodwin up top left and put Gallaway at leftback, who I don't rate but seemed to go OK towards the end of last year.

Then on the bench we have: Hoole (killing it), Gibbs, Gallaway (if not starting), Kantarovski (can he refind his old form), Pepper (killed it the season before last), Bridges (old but a spark), Regan, Mitchell, BK (best backup keeper in the HAL), Neville (apparently played injured all last year, would explain his poor form), Virgilli

With two inclusions, we could have a really really powerful squad. Bosnar would fit right into our experienced CB spot that they've promised we'll sign

I'd be inclined to push Brown more centrally and play Virgilli on the wing. He tore fullback to shreds at the start of the season. Or even possibly Hoole who I personally haven't seen enough of to really comment on.
Also, if the Jets can't find a new CB, they Chapman & Gallaway would be alright, just lacking some experience with Regan, Neville, Hoole and Katarovski providing backup to all of the defensive positions. Shame about Kanta really, I was expecting big things from him a few seasons back. Would have loved for him to join Sydney back then (Still probably would). Maybe he needs a change of environment?

This could throw a spanner in the works.

Days after Al Nasr confirmed the signing of Brett Holman from Aston Villa, it appears Al Wasl could be closing in on their own Australian import, Sport360° understands.

Wasl, under new manager Laurent Banide, are looking to build a squad ahead of the new season that will see the Cheetahs become a more competitive outfit than in their previous two campaigns. And central to Wasl’s plans will be filling their foreign quota.

Iraqi defender Ahmed Ibrahim has returned to Arbil FC following his six-month loan spell, and Sport360° has been informed Wasl are in talks with Australian centre-half Eddy Bosnar to become the club’s new Asian player.

Bosnar, a left-sided central defender, is a renowned set-piece specialist and last year set a world record for the fastest free-kick ever scored.

A source close to the Suwon Bluewings player has told Sport360° that it is between Bosnar and an unnamed Iranian defender to fill the void left by Ibrahim. A decision on who will be Wasl’s Asian signing will be made in the next few days.

Bosnar, 33, has enjoyed a long and varied career that has included stints at Dinamo Zagreb, Sturm Graz and J-League side Shimizu S-Pulse. He also sealed a move to Everton in 2004 but injury kept him on the sidelines and he departed Goodison Park a year later.

The potential arrival of Bosnar will be the second international signing for Wasl this summer after the arrival of Brazilian forward Kaio Felipe, who was unveiled earlier this month.
