The software (vbulletin) they used had a big security flaw that was released to the world a week or two ago. The pcpowerplay gaming forum got hacked as well, same software.
They really should have backups though. That's the golden rule of anything on the internet.

Nf.net lost all of its content a year or two ago. "The foz v2" is in full swing again (although this last week has been down due to changing of credit cards led to host payment issues.
