So that means no Govas or McGrath. Looks like VPL it is for Govas. Still wouldn't mind Mcgrath at Roar.

To even have a HALF SHOT with the NT at this late stage, IF he's at A-L level, he would be not only need to be featuring week in, week out, but also one of the A-L's best players, STARRING, week-in, week-out! The WC team will not be finalised 7 months out from the world cup. Holger has stated he will use the friendlies just before the WC to figure the final line up out. Quote me. Troisi will be at the WC :)

Really? I'd think that we'd be seeing Troisi, if he comes, playing in more of a central role. But, I'm still left wondering how he is fitting in the cap... Cromulent wrote:RedKat wrote:Ah so just completely misunderstood wiki. So then Victory can still make another signing after Troisi, cap permitting? It looks like the wiki had the squad wrong so it wasn't really your mistake. But yeah, I'm not entirely sure on O'Dea's situation for this season and whether Geria and Galloway are still senior-listed youths or proper squad members but i'm fairly sure the situation is that there is one senior spot remaining after the Troisi signing, possibly for one of the triallists like Govas, McGrath or Mahazi I've been told Mahazi has been signed. So, I'd say that Troisi loan would fill out the roster.

Well Victory have 100% signed a Attacking Midfielder, Ange said as much this morning on radio, he just didn't give the name, if it is troisi then thats fantastic and MVFC will certainly be very difficult to stop this season.

RedKat wrote:Its as simple as whatever a player is paid counts to the cap. So if Troisi was on 250k and part of the loan was that Victory would pay 50%, even if theyre paying 125k for him, the whole 250k counts.
Even if there is cap space, didnt Victory promote a whole bunch of youthies to senior contracts? I thought Contreras took up your last squad spot unless I missed something like bru being released? In the past it hasn't been that simple. That's the thing. But there might have been a rule change to allow common sense to prevail. Clubs should only pay for what they pay the player.

I count 21 including Bru. Coe Thomas Geria Ansell Galloway Contreras (f) Leijer Traore (f?) Milligan Bru (f) Finkler (f) Brown Nichols Makarounas Broxham Jeggo Stella Thompson Nabbout Pain Barbarouses (f) I was looking at wiki which also lists Cristaldo, Buceto, Radonich, Murnane, O'Dea, Luc Jeggo who are all listed as players with senior status so was trying to figure out how you had so many. Clearly misread it then. O'Dea has (or at least had) a senior contract last year but the others are all youth players. Jordan Brown is one of our senior-listed youth players so doesn't take a spot in the squad of 23. Geria and Galloway were the same last year but they might've moved into the squad properly for this year

I don't think this is the case. Victory are paying $250k of Flores's wages still, and CCM only $150k. Yet CCM claim that Flores is completely under the cap for them as he only costs them $150k. Source?????

By HAL rules, doesn't the entire wage paid to the player count under the cap, even if the club only pays a percentage?
Never understood this rule, but it's been around for a while now. Wouldn't complain if it's changed but haven't heard anything. Its a hindrance to HAL clubs trying to sign decent young players from bigger clubs on loan.
Good signing for the league if he does come back, but I could think of other clubs that could use him more than MV!
