Not saying I wouldn't want him, but must be accepting peanuts if true.

Not saying I wouldn't want him, but must be accepting peanuts if true. Loan deal, and only paying a percentage of his wages.

Haha no I was thinking more along the lines of the salary cap - I'd imagine he'd be a direct competitor with both Pain and Nichols for a spot in the side (Nichols I'm ok with, but I'd love to see Pain play every game).

The Adelaide-born attacker was signed by Juventus and Atalanta in a co-ownership deal last year.
He played six matches for Atalanta last season.
Troisi, 25, signed a co-ownership extension this before English clubs Norwich City and Blackburn Rovers signalled some interest during the FIFA transfer window.
It's understood Troisi was recommended to Victory by former Socceroos midfielder Vince Grella. Troisi has penned a one season loan deal with the A-League club.
Victory officials did not return calls.

That said, Id imagine hed be on a fair bit so wonder where the cap space will come from (yes i know contreras and thompson are marquees) Sydney FC fans talking about cap space                            In all seriousness, probably only a small % of wages are being paid.

By HAL rules, doesn't the entire wage paid to the player count under the cap, even if the club only pays a percentage?
Never understood this rule, but it's been around for a while now. Wouldn't complain if it's changed but haven't heard anything. Its a hindrance to HAL clubs trying to sign decent young players from bigger clubs on loan.
Good signing for the league if he does come back, but I could think of other clubs that could use him more than MV!

Would be great for the Socceroos, if this happens he should be on the plane to Brazil.

Even if there is cap space, didnt Victory promote a whole bunch of youthies to senior contracts? I thought Contreras took up your last squad spot unless I missed something like bru being released? I count 21 including Bru. Coe Thomas Geria Ansell Galloway Contreras (f) Leijer Traore (f?) I don't think this is the case. Victory are paying $250k of Flores's wages still, and CCM only $150k. Yet CCM claim that Flores is completely under the cap for them as he only costs them $150k.

Clearly misread it then. O'Dea has (or at least had) a senior contract last year but the others are all youth players. Jordan Brown is one of our senior-listed youth players so doesn't take a spot in the squad of 23. Geria and Galloway were the same last year but they might've moved into the squad properly for this year

RedKat wrote:Ah so just completely misunderstood wiki. So then Victory can still make another signing after Troisi, cap permitting? Starting spot permitting more like it. I understand adding depth and what not, but we don't need more Brus and Foschinis. -PB

In the past it hasn't been that simple. That's the thing. But there might have been a rule change to allow common sense to prevail. Clubs should only pay for what they pay the player.
