It shouldn't matter whether Qatar recognises Israel or not, Israel is a member of FINA, if it didn't want to recognise Israel then it shouldn't of hosted an event that Israel is a part of.

Yep, it's not about recognising countries, it's about recognising the member association (or whatever they call them) in the world swimming body FINA, just as is done with members of FIFA, which is the clear obligation of hosts of a tournament.

Not one single host of the Olympics or World Cup recognise the state of the Republic of China, but Chinese Taipei have been welcomed to qualify to all of them, and if a host country tore down their flag it'd be unthinkable.

To be fair the territories won in '67 were because of an Israeli preemptive attack. Not that it wasn't duly provoked as the Egyptian, Syrian and Jordanian armies massed on Israel's borders each fielding 100000, 75000 and 55000 troops respectively.

I love it how he justifies Israel originally getting their land via the UN, and then also saying they deserve the extra lebensraum thanks to winning a war, even though the UN condemned it.

I agree that conquest doesn't equate to ownership and there was a huge debacle over the wording of the UN Resolution 242 at the end of the war. The whole thing is a mess, I for one am for separate Palistinian state.

I am against all war including the wars that the Arabs started and lost but if you start a war and lose it I am not sure how you can complain about the result. If the Arabs had not attacked Israel then Israel would not have any different borders to those the UN gave them.

Israel is not the problem it is the Arabs inability to accept that Israel should exist and others who fall for anti-Israel propaganda and believe the same.

That is not to say I agree with everything Israel does, I certainly do not, but I extremely strongly believe that Israel should exist.
