Well I for one linked a press release from the NSW Police, so that seems reasonable to me. We have laws in Australia about embargoed information during court cases, but there's no court case yet. That's an argument for another day.

Anyway, my whole contention was that it was inappropriate when the mod mentioned another unrelated alleged attack, and furthermore claimed that he didn't comment on it, while commenting on it! There was no need to mention that event whatsoever, unless he had an agenda to put blame on Victory fans and insulate the Cove, when it's really all of us together versus people that bring violence into our game.

Melbourne Victory fan stabbed in brawl after match


A MELBOURNE Victory fan is believed to have been stabbed in a wild brawl after tonight's match against Sydney FC.

Police were called to break up the fight outside the Bat & Ball Hotel in Redfern at about 10.15pm, after the home side had completed a 3-2 win over the visitors at Allianz Stadium.

A man in his late 20s or early 30s, who is believed to be a Victory fan, was allegedly stabbed in the torso by a Sydney supporter.

He was taken to St Vincent's Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

New South Wales Police confirmed that "a number of men became involved in an altercation after leaving a nearby soccer match".

Another man was also treated for a wound to his hand.

Officers arrested a 16-year-old boy at the scene and took him to Redfern police station for questioning.
