Poor Rose has been dropped for spurs.
More or less standard line-ups from each side, though interesting to note that Anelka and Cashley aren't starting for Chelsea.
Chelsea from: Cech, Ferreira, Alex, Terry, Zhirkov, Deco, Mikel, Lampard, J. Cole, Drogba, Malouda. Subs: Hilario, Ivanovic, A. Cole, Ballack, Kalou, Sturridge, Anelka.
Spurs from: Gomes, Kaboul, Dawson, Bassong, Assou-Ekotto, Bentley, Huddlestone, Modric, Bale, Pavlyuchenko, Defoe. Subs: Alnwick, Crouch, Gudjohnsen, Rose, K. Walker, Livermore, Townsend.

Pretty sure Rose picked up an injury against us so that may be why he's resting him because if he was fit I'd imagine he'd be startin ahead of Bentley.

sydneycroatia58 wrote:Unbelievable. Once again Man Utd get very very very lucky. But of course in the press it will be all about how "this is how champions play" "the mark of champions". Yet when any other team in the big four scores a late goal it's luck.
Fucking horrible defending from City. Of all people to score a header it's Paul Scholes.
Also pathetic from Bozza and Robbie somehow defending Rooney's disgusting dog act. How the fuck is it in any way a tackle from behind if he didn't touch him.
Edited by sydneycroatia58: 17/4/2010 11:48:39 PM Hahah what? Lucky? They deserved the win, and did City ever really have any chances? United had 2 that they'd score on any other day (Rooney's miss and Gigg's trying a flick when he should've just hammered it), and then came at the death and took all the points. What "dog act"? Rooney got stomped and smacked about and tackled from behind all match, and the ref gave nothing. BTW, apparently Simon Hill got spotted in the crowd apparently. Might have to go back tomorrow and have a gander see if I can find him hah. Edited by macktheknife: 18/4/2010 04:58:34 AM

So now suddenly I Arsenal win tonight it's a 3 horse race again:lol:
An Mack the dog act I'm referring to is him rolling around on the ground like he'd been shot after a love tap from Kompany and then as soon a he sees Kompanh get a card (which wasn't a booking anyway) he gets up and runs away like nothing happened. That's a dog act. How much he was kicked before is irelevant.

Arsenal: Fabianski, Sagna, Campbell, Silvestre, Clichy, Walcott, Eastmond, Diaby, Nasri, Rosicky, Bendtner. Subs: Mannone, van Persie, Vela, Eboue, Traore, Merida, Henderson.
Eastmond in starting 11? Fabianski in goals?? Fancied RVP for a start too.
Looks like a 4-5-1 to me.

Na it's a 433 with Walcott and Rosicky pushing up.
With Eastmojd he's in for Denilson who's got a knee problem. Fabianksi I'm not so sure about. Must just be giving Almunia a rest. Mind you with Chelsea losing yesterday I'd go with a full strength line-up with RVP and Bendtner upfront tbh.
It's like Deja vu seeing Sol Campbell as captain again

Wigan 0-1 Arsenal
After a slow start to the half Walcott makes it 0-1 with a neat finish under Kirkland to make up for an fucking up an earlier chance.
Think well see RVP this half on for Bendtner who has been largely ineffectual.

Make that 0-2. Great header by Silvestre. Horrible defending from Wigan though he was totally free.

Un fucking believable. That's even more pathetic than Thursday morning. Fabianski GTFO you useless cunt. You literally handed them that equaliser ou pathetic cunt. No closing down whatsoever and we deserved to lose this after that second half performance. Ohwell it was always going to be improbable to win the title and now it's officially impossible.

The Doctor wrote:what just happened... it was 2-0 i went and had a shower and come back and it's 3-2 Arsenal look shattered Basically after Wigan pulled one back we collapsed. Fabianski quote literally dropped it right on Brambles head to equalise and then N'Zogbia hit a screamer to win it. Pathetic second half performance.

Wow... How the fuck did that happen. At this rate Spurs will overtake us into 3rd. I hope this gives Wenger some serious indication of what needs to be done before next season kicks off!! That second half was a disgrace.

Actually it's very possible. We are sitting on 71pts with 3 games to go. Tottenham are 64 with 4 games. They could get a maximum of 76 pts. We could get a maximum of 80. But if we keep playing this unbelievably crap it's quite possible they could finish above us. I think this team has given up. We came so close, battled so hard and as soon as Barcelona completely outclassed us I think mentally this team was affected. It became all about the league and even then we only had an outside chance but we choked. It's as if the players have given up.

Our goal difference will save us. Plus 7 points on 4 games when you've still gotta play Man Utd is a big ask. It's pretty safe to say we've it t wrapped up with still a home game against Fulham and an away trip against Blackburn we should win with RVP Most likely back as well as Somg coming back.

Arsenal have won one of their last four games on the road and Blackburn have taken points off Chelsea, United and Liverpool. Entirely possible that they do the same to Arsenal.

From things looking great and having more than half a chance at winning the league, to the collapse we've witnessed and the possibility of finishing below Spurs. I for one cannot wait til next season begins, preferably with a new gk, cb or 2(depends who goes), combative workhorse of a midfielder and striker(Chamakh).

I doubt Spurs will take third. They're not consistent enough. They'll crumble to Utd and wont beat City either imo.

The CB's aren't really an issue, Vermaelen and Gallas are both solid for at least another season and a combative midfielder will come with time as Song develops. A make-weight like Brighi or Blasi is a possibility, though probably too old for Wenger he doesn't have the time with the current squad to wait for players to develop. And with strikers coming out your ears with Bendtner (who is apparently good), Eduardo, VP, Walcott and Van Persie waiting in the wings, another striker isn't that pressing. Arsenal's biggest problem right now is that they go missing when Fabregas does and that their keeper is terrible. Fix that and the title is yours. Sign someone like Sebastien Frey and you're laughing.

Arsenal's biggest problem right now is that they go missing when Fabregas does and that their keeper is terrible. Fix that and the title is yours. Sign someone like Sebastien Frey and you're laughing. Vermaelen is amazing and I think he will be a key player for us for years to come. But as it stands we have Silvestre(surely will be offloaded in the Summer), Djourrou, Senderos(will definitely be off permanently in the summer), Campbell(physically unable to play 3 games a week) and Gallas(buzz about him leaving and no contract progress as of yet). So there is no doubt that we need 1 quality player coming in who will look to be the long term partner to Vermaelen, possibly 2 depending on the departures. We have plenty of midfielders but Song is the only one who can fill that role. All our other CMs are too offensive. Denilson really hasn't progressed this season. Diaby goes from brilliant to bumbling fool every game. Ramsey is more of a Cesc type player not Song. The list goes on but I am 100% happy with Song and he has been our most improved player this season, I just feel we need someone who can push him for that starting place who is a natural in that position. We do have a lot of strikers but I think this is another area we may see a departure. Van Persie is amazing, then Bendtner is good... But far from the level of VP. Then there's Eduardo who has struggled since the horrible Birmingham leg break and struggled in this formation, Vela who has almost been non existant this season and Walcott who I think is quite a way off becoming a central player. And GK is obvious. Almunia is no where near the quality required, Fabianski is 25 and really hasn't shown any promise and Mannone is still way too young and inexperienced.
