Losing one match to one of the best NPL teams doesn't mean they don't have the funds, facilities and fan base for a licence. ;) South can still get into the league. Bentleigh won't ever. yeah thats true. they may not have the squad at the moment but when they do get in the A-league, everything will change Yep. If they were granted a licence right now, a lot of their squad would be cut. One of the things I love about this sport is that each game can be so dramatic, and a clear favourite might get defeated. Just like the 2014 World Cup: Spain, the reigning champions, didn't get past the group stage.

FOX Sports News to broadcast the round of 32 draw live on Thursday June 30th at 3.00pm EST. I thought they were doing away with the pots this year so more A-League clubs will play the NPL clubs.

Peter Overton, and Ken Sutcliffe would never, ever, ever give it the time of day here in CH9 Sydney, unless of course it involved some sort of anti-football bias regarding overly enthusiastic supporters. Or unless the Wanderers won it. They've still got a semi over the Wanderers.

The only change they were doing was not seeding the top A-League teams. So the 3 AL vs AL matches will be randomised. I like the pot system at this stage. While it's not a conventional, fully randomised cup draw, it gives the NPL sides more of a chance. One day, when we've bridged the gap between semi-pro and pro, they can do away with the pots.

FT: Lambton Jaffas 3 - 2 Hamilton Olympic
Lambton have qualified for their first appearance in the Round of 32. Former Jets captain Jobe Wheelhouse is the Lambton captain, who also have former Newcastle Breakers/United NSL goalkeeper Brad Swancott between the sticks.

I can't see anything linking Lambton to Scottish origin in writing. Quote:History of Football in Lambton First Game of Football in Newcastle A small plaque tucked away at the foot of the rotunda at Lambton Park commemorates the beginning of football in Newcastle. In 1885 the first recognised football match in the Newcastle area was played between two teams representing south of Lambton and north of Lambton. HISTORY Lambton Jaffas started off as the senior team of Lambton Soccer Club which was established in 1957. The nickname 'Jaffas' was first used in 1978 when Ernie Lamb had to differentiate between a newly formed 'All Age' and the 2nd Division senior club. Originally, the club one committee to run the Junior and Senior teams. However, in 1980 two committees were formed. The club was incorporated as Lambton Jaffas Soccer Club in 1987, with a Juniors and Seniors division. In 2008, Lambton became a Football Club. Perhaps Ernie was Scottish or he linked the name to historic culture of the area.

scott21 wrote:evolution wrote:Highlights of today's NNSW games here Is it pronounced Lambton (with the b) and not Lamton? Edited by scott21: 19/6/2016 10:35:01 PM It's pronounced like the meat. Interesting to see Jaffas beat Hamilton Olympic. I went and watched Edgeworth smack Jaffas 5-0 last week in the NPL, and Jaffas were terrible in that game. Jaffas have by far the biggest money spent on their squad in the Newcastle NPL so in that sense it's not surprise to see them make the 32 here. They have Jobe Wheelhouse, former Young Socceroo Luke Remington, former Jerk Peter McPherson & former NSL keeper Brad Swancott. They've got good pedigree. Edgy once again get in and are arguably the best squad in the comp. Daniel McBreen plays for them too, so it'll be a return to the screen for Macca. Only upset of the weekend will be Olympic didn't get through, who feature Leo Bertos. So yall won't get to see him on the screen again yet.
