if there is going to be another one, it would have to be someone with some pace to keep pressure on tired defenders.

i think ruka will be going anyway, especially now that kruse is out.

kewell will have to battle cahill and kennedy for the old mans spots. (bye bye kennedy??).

it will be either taggart or juric or ikonomidisisomsiss.

Jesus, Kennedy has got to be the most underrated striker on this forum. Ex-bundesliga player, twice golden boot in J-League denied the third only due to injury, 17 goals in 33 international matches including one against Netherlands one of the teams we will be playing, at the peak age of 31. Despite all these there are constantly calls for him to be dropped. ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

According to the wise FourFourTwo community, once a player turns 30 they are suddenly shit and should no longer play for the national team.

most on the list play as attacking midfielders or wingers... taggart, juric and mcdonald are the only real strikers there... putting duke on the list is ridiculous if you've watched him play for the mariners this season. taggart and juric have not been consistent enough but the former has the edge at the moment. juric has had about two good games at a-league level. the same amount duke had befiore holger chose him. what about having a good SEASON before you get picked to go to a world cup.

those talking up ruka should take note of his conversion rate and general ineptness with the ball at his feet.

kennedy and cahill are obvious choices. leckie will play wide not as an out and out striker. he doesn't have the size or at this stage of his career the poise on the ball to play alone up front.

mcdonald has missed the boat.

holman has never been a striker.

kewell maybe, depending on form leading up to the world cup.

nathan burns had some good moments towards the end of his loan spell at newcastle but he needs to 1)make the team and 2) continue that form with his korean team.

Agreed.

Yep, he'd still be my pick to start and play the first 60 minutes leading the line, then chuck on your Troisis or Rukas to run at tired legs.
