most on the list play as attacking midfielders or wingers... taggart, juric and mcdonald are the only real strikers there... putting duke on the list is ridiculous if you've watched him play for the mariners this season. taggart and juric have not been consistent enough but the former has the edge at the moment. juric has had about two good games at a-league level. the same amount duke had befiore holger chose him. what about having a good SEASON before you get picked to go to a world cup.
those talking up ruka should take note of his conversion rate and general ineptness with the ball at his feet.
kennedy and cahill are obvious choices. leckie will play wide not as an out and out striker. he doesn't have the size or at this stage of his career the poise on the ball to play alone up front.
mcdonald has missed the boat.
holman has never been a striker.
kewell maybe, depending on form leading up to the world cup.
nathan burns had some good moments towards the end of his loan spell at newcastle but he needs to 1)make the team and 2) continue that form with his korean team.
