At 35 he fits Franks preferred player age though. Calver, Urosevski, Themba, Antonis, Mallia, Gligor, and Naumoff say hi. Oh and a big no to Archie. Needs to retire. Edited by thupercoach: 10/3/2014 11:01:53 PM

If he's looking for a final pay cheque he could do worse than the Middle East. Spend a season or two in Qatar, or Syria.. Should ask old mate Carlos how India is.

This has Perth Glory all over it. Fits the age requirement to a tee. The big question is, can he play Poker?

He's still the joint 6th highest goalscorer this season, after all. I'm not saying he's shit, I saying he should no longer be our main striker, he needs to accept a more diminished role going forward, where he can still provided good service maybe off the bench more often than not. He hasn't been our main striker, or striker even for that matter for 2 years now. If anything it's more impressive that his stats are still so high whilst playing on the wing.

Why isn't this in rumour mill, pala?
Do not want Archie at Jerks. Ever since he said the anti-vaccine thing I have lost all respect for him & would rather a local young striker/winger be given a chance ahead of him tbh.
Also scares me that the Jerks are apprently after this player and that, without having lined up a coach for next year yet.

Joffa wrote:smart move would be to stay with us in a diminished role where he can be lauded and feted as the hero he is.... That isn't the "smart move". That is the move the MV fans want to see, as we'd like to see "loyalty" from players. I would love to see him go under the cap and finish off his career with MV. But, maybe he wants to find somewhere that'll pay him more $. He's been with the club since inception, I'd only hate the man if he moved to another HAL club. pv4 wrote:Also scares me that the Jerks are apprently after this player and that, without having lined up a coach for next year yet. Or, have they? The Jets could follow the HAL tradition of handing the "caretaker coach" a shiny new contract.

There's NO WAY Archie will be Victory's Australian marquee next season.
The Australian marquee position has been pencilled in for Mark Milligan.

The Australian marquee position has been pencilled in for Mark Milligan. Lets face it, Milligan is probably gone, either to Europe or a long awaited pay day in the middle east.

If he was to start all 3 games at the WC he could probably double his asking price in the Middle East or china And the victory could probably get $2.5 mill plus for him.

His contract would be up at the end of next season though, the figure will still probably be 7 figures though, he just might have more options to choose from.

No way he'll be at Sydney
Edited by Lastbroadcast: 10/3/2014 09:12:09 PM This, he's off contract, nearly done and victory are hardly going to want to pay him anything more than a token contrat. Going to Sydney risks the golden mega statue that will be built in his honour outside AAMI Park alongside one of Kevin Muscat snapping Zahra like a twig. Edited by melbourne_terrace: 10/3/2014 09:17:11 PM Can a statue be arrested for violent conduct? ;)

If you MV fans are planning to stage a protest to stop Archie going to SFC, give me a shout, I'll be happy to fly down and join you.

I highly doubt Archie goes anywhere as long as his old mate Musky remains in charge.

If Muscat is trying to get him to take a pay cut and go under the cap, never know...
