Absolutely not. CCM's last two matches this season will probably see them average over 10k for 13/14 despite a indifferent season.

The strength of the NRL is the historical success of its' regional teams- the Knights and Raiders have both enjoyed successful periods on and off the field and the Cowboys, while yet to win a Premiership, have always enjoyed healthy home support. If the FFA wants to expand beyond the major city centres and develop a solid foot-hold in regional areas, then the Mariners need to stay. When it comes to on-field success and crowds per-capita, it's hard to fault them. If the Mariners are forced to relocate to North Sydney or the Northern Beaches in spite of this, then we might as well give up on the idea of ever having teams in the Illawarra, North Queensland, Geelong etc.
There are only two intellectually honest debate tactics: (a) pointing out errors or omissions in your opponent’s facts, or (b) pointing out errors or omissions in your opponent’s logic. All other debate tactics are intellectually dishonest - John T. Reed

We shouldn't have kicked out NQF and GCU. With the decline of rugby league and union, we would have a foot in the door of Queensland. We have had huge news since: a national second division, a cup comp, hosing rights of 2015 afc Asian cup, World Cup qualification. It would mean more teams to play and a less stale league. Now there is a real buzz in the football world.

If worse let them go nearer into the Jets areas so as to piss stir their lot - seems to always be the Jerks giving it to them mind you mariners have the silverware :p Above all keep out of sydney ! They are established up the Coast, they have that centre of excellence and they are the Central Coast Mariners. If they were to play anywhere else it would be detrimental to their 9K fans that turn up on a weekly basis.
If they have an issue with rent at blue tongue, then they should seek other options. Easier said than done, but if they said, right. we get 2 mil a season from the FFA, we are only going to use 1.25 for 3 seasons and use the remainder of it to upgrade lets say Woy Woy Oval, put that proposal to the FFA as a long term strategy to get the ball rolling then I'm sure the Blue tonguers would come to the party.
The cynic in me though says the current owners want to relocate the team.

Central Coast Stadium is owned and (as of February) managed by Gosford Council. Do you really think that the council would commit funding for the construction & maintenance of a second 15,000+ seat stadium that would leave CCS practically idle? About the only other possibilities would be to get Wyong Council to kick in for grandstands at either the CoE or the proposed regional sports facility at Tuggerah, and I can't see either of those options getting up.

Congrats to the Mariners for landing Richard Peil, owner of Anytime Fitness Gyms, onto the board officially, to eventually go from investing, to taking over the ailing club in the near future. As Richard mentioned in Perthnow.com.au, he has high aspirations for the club to be as competitive as any of the other clubs. Looks like things won't be as previously, merely surviving. Mariners will not need to relocate with news like that.

I think the original price put forward was probably unreasonable thus the 51% original purchase. His kid is also in the Academy set up which is a worry.

Off to Sydney perhaps https://www.news.com.au/sport/football/smoke-and-mirrors-situation-an-unwanted-problem-at-central-coast-mariners/news-story/763aea27fd1d6ee104d4d38fec737593Uncertainty continues to harm the Mariners, where a power struggle has emerged between title-winning coach Mark Jackson and Labinot Haliti, who has been brought to Central Coast in a football director-type role by Damon Hanlin, the president of Sydney Olympic who is understood to be investing heavily in the Gosford-based club despite an ownership proposal yet to be approved by the Australian Professional Leagues. Haliti is also the coach of the Sydney Olympic team taking part in upcoming Australian Championship. Olympic’s Kiwi midfielder Seth Clark will also join the Mariners in the January transfer window following Olympic’s Australian Championship campaign in a signing understood to have been forced upon Jackson by Haliti. Player payments were also late this month, leading to the Mariners being probed by Professional Footballers Australia.
