We're well down because membership renewal went on sale over a month later compared to last year, so comparing our membership numbers compared to this time last year is basically pointless.

and we are doing well considering we released membership packages late and we've got a rich little brother up the road.

Haha, got to laugh at those wanting to sink the boots into Victory's member numbers already.

Over 11k already is brilliant and without cutoff dates coming we'll be at 15k within the next two weeks.

I sent an email on the 23rd to the club about the my second season ticket, got an email of the staff saying i was good to go.................................i still cannot purchase the second Season ticket...........frustration building and deadline looming....:cry: :cry: .

How long has MVFC memberships been on sale?

18-07-14 is when WSW started selling tickets..............................that is about 4.7k members per week and with ticketing issues.

10-07-14 is when Victory when on sale for renewals..............that is about 3.8k per week.

Adelaide United Memberships have been on sale for exactly one month, and we have been delighted with the response. We currently have almost 4,800 members who have signed up for the 2014/15 Season. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you that have committed to the Reds this season.

I wonder where they source the Phoenix number from? Have Phoenix announced this via any of their Social Media platforms or via local NZ media, member's e-mail or what not? :-k

I think there seems to be an average percentile in terms of a growth measure, emerging?

Going by fts numbers (Which are already quite dated), A-League clubs are around 54% towards their previous season's member numbers. It's being dragged down by Phoenix (28%+) and slow starters (Reasons have been explained) Victory and Wanders (Roughly 40% each), but dragged up by Roar (105.45%+) and City (83%+).

And again, our figures more up-to-date, so Wanderers, Victory and Jets are all since much closer to their previous marks, by the collective thousands, as expressed by posters above. AU, City and SFC have grown substantively since too.


Also, most clubs were either near or had even exceeded their membership goals, in the past season. So if many of the teams are atleast on-track to meet their numbers of last season, then they're still doing exceptionally well - as last season was a very successful season, in terms of memberships for many of the clubs. What's really positive though is the substantive growth gains in markets who always had clearly more room for growth. Roar may finally be breaking the 10k ceiling/goal, City too may be pushing that mark and even AU (75%) and SFC (61%) are pushing well towards new record numbers.

I can't understand how a club like Perth, the only club in their big state can have similar numbers to CCM and have 2000 less members than the Jets.

Because worse than here. It is in a major AFL bubble.

Adelaide is just as big of an AFL bubble really, but luckily it is still close enough to the rest of the states to not be sucked into the vortex completely. This allows a small amount of variation in sporting interest, but Perth/WA unfortunately does not have that luxury.

It's partly true - Perth has variety too, as seen in, ironically, 'purple patches' for the Wildcats, Glory and now Wildcats support again. Same too with Western Force. Now that's something Adelaide don't and have never had. We even had the Western Reds NRL/Super League team for a brief period? Not trying to provoke WA v SA thing FTR.

But anyway, you guys aren't wrong and I suffer it often with those I'm surrounded by. But same time, we have cosmopolitan elements and our experiences don't necessary reflect the whole reality. Go to Freo, Subi and other areas closer to the city and it may be different. Freo's had Labor members too, where the wider city and state have slanted Liberal, state-wise and nationally for a long while now. I guess Freo and the like can be classed as the inner city, Cafe Latte-type areas of the city though, so perhaps not quite representative of the 'burbs. :/

I think it comes down to Chicken and the Egg and the isolation aspect is something we can't deny and are ever fighting, to bring and keep all sorts of events over here, to mixed success. The Chicken and the Egg, includes some of my above examples - the reason why some of these variety of activities don't exist/flourish here, IS because they WERE tried here in the past and didn't last for whatever reason. That is again why it's a fight in a variety of fronts, from the Arts, Sports, Big Events etc... to have things over here. If people keep up their level of interest in the Wildcats... Glory can return to levels anywhere near their heyday, as too Force, if the NRL can brave a move here, Hopman Cup Tennis keeps drawing crowds, the Art Gallery persists with displays from New York etc... The Fringe Festival's and co continue to be a big success, then perhaps Perth can start to prove it's bit more cosmopolitan than it's past reputation has suggested... Dullsville which some NY Magazine tagged us ('one of the most boring cities') in the late 90s , which we still haven't quite gotten over.

Well it looks like the FFA needs to do a bit more to grow the game in Perth. I know you guys have some fantastic junior clubs and development coaches, a high participation level in both juniors and seniors, so there's no reason why Perth Glory shouldn't have a lot more members. The FFA is much bigger than basketballs governing body, work needs to be done!
