BRAZIL PLAYERS PUT UNDER 24 HOUR POLICE PROTECTION 07/08/20140 Comments Following Germany's 7-1 rout of Brazil in the World Cup semis, all players on the Brazilian squad have been put under police protection, effective immediately until Brazil's third place match on Saturday. "We just need to be sure that these guys will be safe," police officer Ang Ryfan said through a translator. "I'm pretty angry myself." Police have given the protection they would have given to Neymar and Thiago Silva to Julio Cesar and Fred. "Everyone loves Neymar. Silva is great too," Ryfan said. "Fred sucked the whole tournament. If I had to pick one guy who we should keep a special eye out for, it would be Fred." Beside Fred, Brazilian police say they have been keeping special tabs on goalkeeper Julio Cesar as well. "Never have I seen someone want to go to Canada so badly," Ang Ryfan remarked. "Although I don't know if even Toronto FC wants him back. Yes, his defense didn't give him any help, but ultimately he let those goals in." Even though Cesar made some great saves during the tournament, Ryfan admits his fellow fans will only remember him giving up 7 goals to Germany. "We hadn't lost at home in almost 40 years and this badly in 90 years," Ryfan exclaimed. "Why would you expect any different response from us fans?" If there is a bright side to such a predicament, the riots in the streets of Brazil against their government have ceased due to the loss. However, street fires have broken out right and left due to the immense number of Julio Cesar jerseys being burned by fans. http://www.themudball.com/home/brazil-players-put-under-24-hour-police-protection

Why are the Brazilians not playing beautiful football any more? Take Neymar out of the team and they might as well be a Bunch of European hackers :( Because they all now play for cynical european teams now rather than being based in Brazil.

Absolutely correct, as well as having the most cynical Brazilian Manager available.

Was driving to breakfast and had the stream going in my car, missus asked "are we really going to listen this on the drive to brekky?". We hadn't even made it to the 2nd set of lights from my place and Germany had scored 3-4 goals lol. Absolute destruction, no mercy. Brazil as a country will implode tomorrow, the whole country will turn on those players and coaching staff. Those who have turned a blind eye to all of the atrocities of late will wake up and riot. -PB

Amazing to see the childhood of a few innocent fans die, in the shots of children crying in the stadium, when they saw their heroes go down
The resentment and bitterness will grow from this, a few will pledge revenge against germany
The World Cup can be seen to be a puerile / hedonistic experience for many

Just when Brazil thought they were going to rid themselves of the nightmare of 1950 they somehow manage to come up with an even worse one.

Its interesting Scolari has already mentioned the play off for third. I reckon the reason for the heavy loss is to get good odds for Brazil in that match. Then Scolari and co clean up again.

Brazil's fightball was never going to beat Germany, once they couldn't compete with them physically then it was always going to be a hard slog. Germany have shown the way for Brazil on how to play the modern way and you can play beautiful football in this era not by fighting it out it will never win you anything this significant.
Credit to Germany they were outstanding, but Brazil were a disgrace this morning, Scolari should never coach another team again he must be Holger Osieck in disguise.

I'm sure there'll still be plenty of shirt burnings though, Fred will be a target if the reaction of the fans in the stadium was anything to go by.

To be fair I didn't see much of Luiz at Chelsea but 50mil for this player in a way reflects exactly where the game is poised at the moment.
It is no wonder that our own players struggle to get anywhere near a top team when there are transfers as silly as that one.

Amazing how robust a Brazilian can be when free kicks aren't given for diving or when they go behind on the scoreboard. From the moment they went 1 nil down all of a sudden they could either stay on their feet or get up after the slightest touch. Justice and karma served up in equal doses this morning. Fuck off Brazil.

Stats don't tell the full story. Having a look at the above "completed passes" analysis will show you just how compact Germany were in comparison to Brazil. This clearly illustrates just how much Brazil has done away with the famous Volante they used to produce who would control everything in the centre of the park. In contrast, Germany's compact central midfield and short-passing combinations were able to slice through Brazil like a hot knife through butter as well as thwart any insipid attack Brazil tried to throw at them. Another telling stat is Brazil crossed the ball 21 times in comparison to Germany's 7 without creating 1 goal scoring opportunity.

it' was obvious brazil wouldnt win the world cup when they won the confederations cup, no one has ever won the former after winning the latter. Scolari has always plaayed anti football though, Brazil has far better midfielders available than the cumbersome uncreative Paulinho and Luis Gustavo, the type of destructive players scolari likes. tbh I could see this coming although not quite to the extent we have just seen. Brazil were helped by the ref to beat croatia barely got past chile and against colombia all the brazil players looked like genuine nervous wrecks. They should keep Oscar and Neymar but the rest should never play for Brazil again. I was thinking at half time how far Brazillian football stock price had already just fell after decades of perfecting their brand, amazing.
