I don't love it. Disappointing that they talk about consulting fans and 'research', yet no one outside the club seems to have had any involvement.

Its fucken shit, i remember back in the kits thread we were all thinking that design was just the prototype and would be improved upon. So disappointed, dropped the ball big time.

I think it will grow in me, as it will on most of us. Can't deny the fact that it's a very basic design. When people were saying 'traditional' logo, I was honestly expecting a modern looking badge with traditional elements such as the Dutch lion etc. I was wasn't expecting a crest which (apart from the text, which doesn't seem to match the design) could be passed off as 100+ years old.
I don't hate it, it's certainly an improvement. However I feel like the club has missed the opportunity to create something special that the fans can truly feel a part of and embrace.

Seems like a lot of you roar fans all have differing opinions on how it should look. Maybe give actual improvements on it and see if your ideas get shot down as well.

To me the standing lion looks much better, more fierce i guess, instead of a laying down or walking lion, or god forbid just the head. And the simple banner used going over the lower half of the lion helps keep it neat and tidy (smaller). Put it on the new jerseys from Umbro and see how it looks.

It'll grow on you after they start adding stars across the top (or bottom?) for ACL wins ;) .

Good stuff. The main thing is that it doesn't look like a gimmick but it also doesn't pretend that the club is a hundred years old.

I feel for BR, I have felt their pain also. When I was a lad back in the 80's Terrigal Soccer Club were looking to design a new logo. There were those in the club who felt That the black line drawing of the Skillion on a dull orange background looked too boring. They wanted a more progressive, modern design and pushed forward a concept of a smiling cartoon seagull with his foot on a ball on a white background named, "Terri-Gull". As young players at the time we hated the Skillion because it was pictured in our brain as the place where the rugby was played (Terrigal played at Avoca then of course in the fine Central Coast tradition of clubs playing far away from the actual suburb they were named for) and the whole Terri-Gull thing was ball-shrivellingly cringe-worthy. We of course came up with a counter proposal consisting of a gloss black, rabid, eagle-like seagull in full attack (probably on a chip) on a orange background.
Of course, in the end, the skillion is still the logo today.
Sorry, had Grandpa Simpson moment.

I prefer the old one. i am used to it. The new one just doesn't look right.
I am not sure why people feel the need for "traditional looking" emblems, logos, shields, whatever you want to call them; none of our clubs are traditional yet. By the time they are, their emblems will be too.

I don't mind it, if anything it would make the club look well established and older then it is to someone who didn't know better.

Looking at it again - I think it will look better (in fact really good) when it is embossed on a jersey.
But as a logo on its own it looks really unfinished. The Lion should be a colour rather than white - it looks like someone coloured it in paint but forgot to finish it.
However the overall idea is awesome and they could fix it pretty easily by paying a graphic designer to clean it up a bit. Wouldn't take too much to make it look good.

personally I'm not sold on this new badge.
Ultimately it just looks poorly done. Particularly that confused mess that may be tail, may be scroll. Somehow I can't help feeling that there is a guy at a graphic design business somewhere wondering why the Roar haven't got back to him about how they like his preliminary sketches.
HOpefully it'll only last one season and be upgraded to something that looks a bit less amateur hour

Wow how amazingly underwhelming. It looks like a draft drawn up by someone who has no graphic art skill. I guess it's maybe better than the old one, the old one was polished and professional though, this looks like an amateur clubs logo that they let the under 12s design. Hopefully it will change over time so that it looks like the crest of a professional club.

I agree with many people here. The new logo is better than the old,but it looks half finished.I wonder if a silver colour with some shadowing instead of white would make a substantial improvement.

Does it need to look more Dutch? Does look unfinished, though. We'll see how it looks on the jersey over the week, I suppose. I expect the new logo to be the worst part of the new kits.

It's a pretty cool logo. Sharp, clean and minimalist. Much better than the severed head.

Well no surprises really for anyone who followed the ' New Brisbane Roar Emblem Registered' thread. It is pretty much a coloured in version of that and that was first posted in May. I do think people came up with better options in the end but it is not like clubs have really included the overall fan base in the decisions of crests at all ever in the A-League. They may seek some input from certain individuals but that is about it. Overall it will divide opinion as there are those who want a more traditional looking crest and those who don't. As soon as you move one way or the other you are going to please some and displease others. I personally don't hate it but I don't love it either. There is a little too much white in the crest for Brisbane Roar in my opinion. There needed to be a stronger black presence. Cutting down on the overall colours was a positive step to better represent what the Brisbane Roar club has developed into.

The lion is no worse then the one on the Chelsea Logo, so if a big euro club can do it so can we :d
The more I look at the more I like it
