Thought I had it sussed... But sacked midway through season 4, for the second time in a row. Culminated in an attempt at an ultra defensive away game at Man City - which resulted in a 5-1 defeat. The confidence thing appears to be the key - I'd got everything back in order, then slipped up when leading 2-1 in the league cup quarter final - went chasing a 3rd goal and conceded one, then lost on penalties - then had a run of Chelsea (a), Man Utd, Man City (a)... So couldn't break the losing run.
Back to the beginning I go. Less player turnover this time I think.

Anyone got any tips/tricks for player growth in career mode? For instance at the moment I've got Jack Duncan who has played the whole season of league 2 and just into League 1, won keeper of the year and averaging over 7 yet hasn't grown at all. I've tried increasing his contract and wages and did the send him out on loan then recall them straight away trick but didn't seem to make any difference. The save I had before this was the same with Birighitti, I think it was 2 or 3 seasons with no growth even though he played every game and had most clean sheets etc.

We've got stuff all money so what i want to do is sign some good youngsters that can either go straight into the first team or be squad rotation players until such time as i get my youth system up and running. Ive also changed our formation to a 433 with a single holding midfielder and two attacking mids. What i have noticed is there are stuff all quality CDM's with potential. There is also a huge variation in how the clubs are valuing their players with potential when i enquire after them

the lack of carry over of funds from one season to another is total crap. wtf is the point in giving you cash winnings when it is taken from you at the end of the season and randomly - if at all - re allocated to your team. you shouldnt have to cheat it to keep your money - loading up a player with a huge wage and throwing them into an exchange the next year.

Really hope the next edition of FIFA gets an overhaul or something. Was playing FIFA 10 the other day and it's pretty much FIFA 15 but with worse graphics. I know there isn't much EA can do about this as they are limited due to the fact it's a football game.
Would love it if there were more 2nd divisions (or 3rd division germany/spain/wherever) for a bit more variety in Career Mode. Or the even the Conference just for the shits and gigs.
Can't blame EA for focusing on Ultimate Team as that's their main cash cow but I have never been able to get into it.
Also, needs some Simon Hill commentary.

I don't think I'm the only one. Does anyone else have the glitch where handballs are simply not in the game regardless of settings? I'm on Xbox360.

The free agent section from certain national teams who don't have their own league offer interesting players. Lots of Kiwis and quite a few Bolivians and Slovenians.

I'm on Xbox360. no handballs. offside rulings are bullshit as well. doesnt matter if the player is influencing play or not. also seem to get offsides even if it's just their arm. and the commentary that comes with offside rulings... little bit of fifa PR right there.

EA have been screwing over Ultimate Team with price ranges so what hope is there for career mode? I always played career mode as well as UT but it just got too stale, very little changes, new scouting system is hopeless EA should be looking at what 2K has done with its My Player mode

Can't believe it's taken me so long to figure out a system which is genuinely effective against World Class.
Solid defense, fast strikers, counter attacking, long throughballs (from central midfielders or full backs - get two playmaker full backs and you're laughing) - pretty much traditional English football from the 80s, but all on the ground. 21 games into 2nd season, having previously been at best in upper mid-table, currently sitting top of the EPL, with Sunderland.

Alright its taken me five months but I've finally finished my fourth season at Wigan. Was a great season, won the EPL undefeated :d (Only by 3 points), knocked out in the Champions League by Real in the Quarters though. Gayle was probably the signing of the season scored 21 goals across all comps. I've also managed to pick up Jerome Boateng and Kevin Gameiro on free transfers for next season. I'll probably look to sign another winger and a CM before the next season starts as well. I also became the manager of the Socceroos and the World Cup is about to begin. Ruka is 85 & Cisak is 84. Edited by Roar_Brisbane: 5/6/2015 12:06:20 AM

I miss fifa13 when everyone and again, a player would just go beserk! I remember Luke O'dea getting to 84 and winning a world cup for me and starting for Barca

what the fuck is going on with passing from a free kick. why is it so retarded? why cant i pass to who i want? i switch to them and everything, and the kicker takes the most limp random passes. its so frustrating.

Disappointing World Cup got to the Quarter Finals and lost to Poland 2-1 conceding in the 88th minute. :(
Sadly just couldn't score enough goals with Aus.
Ended up being grouped with France, Cameroon and Romania. Was the second in the group but the top 3 team were all equal on points and goal difference.
Anyway have to say world class difficulty is starting to bore me, it's the same shit every game. The opposition sits deep all game, spend the majority of time in possession and finish with a passing rate in between 90-97%. FFS at least make the game realistic.

Games & just talk him up in the press before each game, other than that not much else you can do. Man I'm getting frustrated at the lack of funds I receive from my club. Win the EPL undefeated and only 13 million at the beginning of the next season ffs. Tempted to jump clubs very soon.

Switch to counter attacking tactics - alter your striker(s) to 'get behind' - then pass around a lot at the back to draw the opposition out (even play it up to the half way line, then back, to draw them out further) - then when you get it to your playmakers just boom a long throughball between the defenders and let your striker do some damage one-on-one.
