I don't get number two. Why would it be needed if a game has been drawn or a winner? A winner automatically has a better goal difference therefore making number 1 applicable. Number 4 means total goals ie: traditional goal difference definition. Number 3 is the same meaning a draw automatically sees goals scored as a tie. I came in this thread just to ask the question - 'But what happens if Jordan beat Japan?' which may answer the question you're asking.. Is this provision included for when three teams finish on for instance 6 points each and 4th place finishes with 0 they make a new table excluding the 4th place team's results, therefore possibly changing the goal difference? Interesting that there is no head to head provision there? Why has China progressed as the winner of group B if there is no provision for head-to-head placements???? What happens when all 4 teams finish on 4 points with identical GD??? Do they then draw lots? Where's that provision? Edited by absent_doz_2259: 18/1/2015 12:51:49 AM
