Not that I wish it upon them, and Benjamin is a pure gentleman, but Sunderland,Newcastle and Middlesboro would have to be interseting. And a first of sorts..

Cottagers manager Roy Hodgson is also interested in recruiting Tottenham's Tom Huddlestone in the summer, with Spurs boss Harry Redknapp apparently willing to let the midfielder leave for £5m. (The People)
sounds fair to me.Tom's worth more though IMO,still young (20/21?) with a huge future.I'd rather keep him.

There's still time for them to claw their way back 8-[ No topflight team from the north east would certainly be interesting.

I'd expect Newcastle to be back pretty quick, first or second season. Boro would win it. I'm not sure about sunderland.

We might pay you AU$35m for Lennon, then you'll buy Downing for $20m on a get out clause, then in the January transfer market we'll swap you Lennon+$10m for Downing. Cause that's how you run a business.

No. It was a joke. I was saying we are shit at dealing. Instead of going for downing now who weve wanted for ages we'll probably sign red hot lennon for 35, spurs will spend 20 of that on downing and then we'll get shitty with lennon, just like we did keane, and end up losing money while tottenham make millions of our backs in a straight swap for the two.

Can't we just keep Lennon and Boro can have Downing and Liverpool go and buy some winger from Spain?

Quote:Can't we just keep Lennon and Boro can have Downing and Liverpool go and buy some winger from Spain? we already did that. We need homegrown players. Ideally we'd take Lennon and Downing, but we'll probably have to pick one or the other and I'd rather have Lennon.

We already have a decent left winger in Riera. We need a right winger. Lennon. I dont like the idea of Lennon's inconsistency but the thought of him rampaging alongside the rest of our players is pretty cool.

Wait, so where in between Lennon signing a contract extension until 2014 and being worshiped by White Hart Lane do you two think you're going to sign him?

You honestly think he would've signed a contract til 2014 if he wanted to move? With Redknapp here and in charge of transfers the time of us selling our best players is over- it'll be Bentley leaving this July, not Lennon.

When he signed a contract until 2014 he probably wasn't aware clubs were going to come calling for him now. And even then, in signing a new contract he has done the club a service in increasing his value by a couple of million. I wouldn't say 'no' to some Bentley action at anfield either. He'd be better than Kuyt or Benayoun on the right most of the time.

And it seems to have done just that, apart from you and mk's wishful thinking. He's not going anywhere, you're welcome to Bentley.

Whatever makes you sleep easier Peligro...
I dont care if we get HIM or not TBH. Just as long as we get someone.
Contracts dont mean shit. Do players often swap teams through free agency? Offer a good enough transfer fee, Lennon and Harry will tear up his contract like theyre breaking bread.

As far as he was concerned he wasn't actually going to have an approach made for him, it was just talk. We were more interested in Keane and Barry. Now a bid might actually be confirmed.
