I don't support any EPL team, but I'll be supporting Spurs for the game of course. Other than not wearing Everton or Arsenal colours, and maybe wearing something white, what would you advise I do? Somewhere to go pre or post game? Learn a chant? Look out for a special statue at the stadium? Should I purchase flares or steal them from boats on the Thames?
(Don't answer that last question). post pics if you go dude!

(Don't answer that last question). Just wear normal clothes, you won't have problems. I'd probably advise against red though ;) DO NOT STAY IN TOTTENHAM POST GAME. When you go to the game you will see why :) Pre-match there's plenty. Can't remember the name of the pub but it's about 300m from the stadium. Last time I was there is was in the south end in section 36. Good view but you would probably want to be on the sides a little higher up to see all the action. Although I didn't see Defoe's goal against Bolton last time, Bale celebrated right in front of us :D Easiest way to get there is take the Train from Liverpool street, they have dedicated lines that run every 30 mins straight to the White Hart Lane Train Station. Alternatively take the tube to the Seven Sisters (Northern Line from memory) and then transfer to the train from there.

Funny story, when I went to the lane and was on the train, I met a Newcastle fan who's brother lived about 2 minutes from me.

When I was in the club shop in Tottenham I was told that people try and break into the shop EVERY night. I think you could fly a plane into the shop and it wouldn't break the door down

Thanks for the responses. Will be confirmed in a few days if I have a ticket.
I'll try to take pics if I go, but it will probably be with my phone as I won't take my proper camera for practical reasons. I'll probably only spend 1 night in London (so traveling light), just for the pub/game/pub/see friends (at a pub).
I'll plan to drink near the stadium & station pre-game, then head back to the safety of zone 1 immediately after the game.

Bump.
Good comeback last night, it's really down to the Chelsea match now. What are you guys thoughts on Dempsey so far? IMO he gets important goals and saves our ass every now and again but think he's not influential enough in general play. Kilua, did you end up going? Pics?
NOTE: AVB's changes were PERFECT last night Huddlestone's distribution was excellent, think Holtby made about 1 mistake and JD scored :D.
COYS!

AVB on the redemption trail from the Chelsea. Think he has worked wonders with this team, looking forward to how he compares next season with the off-season and new signings/trades. -PB

COYS! Parker was poor and Thudd really is pushing for a start, I miss his excellent passing. Holty is looking good but i'd like to see him get into shooitng positions. He's one for the future for sure, a good signing. Benny was crap. I hope this doesn't mean AVB sends super Jan to the left wing. That cross from Bale to Dempsey was jizz worthy. I think we got Dempsey for that reason, we haven't really had a player like him for some time and we could do more to get him working in our system. Gylfi had a bit of an off day but he's fitting right in. Excellent win for us.

Couldn't make it to a game, so sorry guys but no photos. Couldn't get 2 seats in the same area.
No worries though, got to spend more time in Spain as the alternative holiday.
I've been watching more spurs though. Great game last night. The substitutions were the difference, and AVB is looking the goods as a manager regardless of the final ladder position.

Bump.
I'm reading that David Villa and Kevin Strootman are potential transfer targets for the summer. Joao Moutinho's name is coming up but i think that's more to do with the deadline day antics of last window, as opposed to renewed interest.
We really need to strengthen in some key areas - especially up top. Really looking forward to the Summer window and seeing what AVB can do with the squad in the off season.

Why do you lot still insist on singing our song (Southampton)
The spurs fans at the pub for the game against us,started singing it.Even thou there where about 12 saints fans there.
They got the message once we started singing `We are Southampton and your singing our song`

Reality is for all Bale's goals you've turned a 20+ goal a season striker in Adebayor into a bit part player... he's a shadow of what he was at Arsenal.
As for Bale he has been the difference this season between 5th and mid-table... for all the plaudits coming AVB's way he has sent a lot of players backwards. Compare Spurs to Everton. If Bale were in Everton they would have finished above City! Strong team ethic just missing a killer punch.
I know these are provocative statements and it's easy to crow in hindsight but Spurs didn't deserve Champions Legue cos they are not that good as a team.

Tbf it's not them that did it, it would've happened no matter what club he was at. Also it's not as if he was consistently a 20 goal a season a striker. Only once in his career has he scored 20 goals in a league season or 20 goals in all competitions. Sp*rs are realising the same thing City did, that unless Adebayor is playing for something(a first team spot, contract etc) then he just disappears and is one of the laziest players you are ever likely to see. I think you're forgetting his time at City and Real. He was long past it when he came to spurs (even on his loan spell). We just signed him because we were desperate. Quote:As for Bale he has been the difference this season between 5th and mid-table... for all the plaudits coming AVB's way he has sent a lot of players backwards. Compare Spurs to Everton. If Bale were in Everton they would have finished above City! Strong team ethic just missing a killer punch. We've finished well above Everton for at least the past 4 seasons? It hasnt all been Bale. Although I agree that this season we've been overeliant on Bale and a bit toothless up front, I think AVB needs a full summer to get the squad the way he likes it. And please, who has AVB sent backwards? If anything he is known for nurturing talent. Plus, individual player development isn't a clear reflection on the manager - there are plenty of other factors. Quote:I know these are provocative statements and it's easy to crow in hindsight but Spurs didn't deserve Champions Legue cos they are not that good as a team. Don't know how you can say that - This is the second season in a row that we've been knocking on the door for UCL spot. Last year we would've made it if Chelsea lost the final and this season we've missed out by 2 points. Previous season we finished 5th, and the season before that we were IN the UCL.

Well, AVB said that we'd be trying to get transfer business done early in the window - but its all pretty quiet on the gossip front.

In other news, David Bentley is on the way out. West Brom, West Ham or Wigan are potential recipients.
I'm assuming the transfer fee and his wages will go straight to Gareth Bale

Some good news re: Bale Looks like he is either going to stay for another season, or hold out for a big offer from a big club. Win/Win really - if we get a fee over what Neymar's was, we'd be able to strengthen the squad significantly. Transfer News: Gareth Bale's agent refuses to rule out Real Madrid wrote:Gareth Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett has admitted that it would be an 'honour' if Real Madrid were interested in his client, but says his contract is with Tottenham Hotspur. Barnett was speaking on the Futboleros show on MarcaTV on Tuesday, and he was asked about the future of the Welsh star - who has been heavily linked with Madrid in recent days. "If Florentino [Perez, Real president] is interested in Gareth Bale, then that would be an honour and we would listen, but his contract is with Tottenham," he said. "But we are not free to talk to anyone." Barnett also dismissed reports that Bale was on the verge of signing a new long-term deal with Tottenham. "No, we have not talked to anybody," he said when asked a about a possible new deal. "I do not know if there has already been an offer. What I know is that the player has three years left on his contract." Barnett did insist, however, that Bale is worth more than Brazilian superstar Neymar - who has just agreed a move to Barcelona, shunning the interest of Real. "He is a much better player than Neymar, he has proven himself in one of the best leagues in the world, the Premier League," he said. "And I would hope any club wanting him, would not want him because they lost out on Neymar but because he was first choice. "This is all crazy, but whatever Neymar cost - Gareth Bale is worth more." http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12691/8740852/Transfer-News-Gareth-Bale-s-agent-refuses-to-rule-out-Real-Madrid

Franco Baldini confirmed as Tottenham technical director with scouting and transfer role wrote: 19th June 2013
"Franco is extremely well respected in the industry, possessing an extensive knowledge of players around the world," said Spurs chairman Daniel Levy
The 52-year-old Italian and former England assistant manager is expected to look after Spurs' scouting and transfer policy.
"We are delighted to announce that Franco Baldini has joined the club in the role of technical director," read a statement on Tottenham's Twitter feed.
Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas worked with a technical director during his successful time in charge at Porto and has been keen for the club to move to a structure similar. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy also has a history of working with a technical director, having already appointed Frank Arnesen and Damien Comolli in the past.
Levy told the Spurs website: "Franco is extremely well respected in the industry, possessing an extensive knowledge of players around the world.
"He will strengthen our football management team, particularly in the field of recruitment, working closely with Andre Villas-Boas and Tim Sherwood across all levels on the playing side."
http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/spurs/News/franco-baldini-appointed-19062013.page?Good move. I think his experience will be great for AVB, as well as our transfer dealings over the summer. Hopefully he has a few targets in mind already. Edited by vaughn2111: 20/6/2013 12:40:25 PM

Tough start, considering we have the Europa qualifier either side of the Swansea game - makes the first Derby a little harder too.
