Why were both mine and others hamless bit of fun threads (the wsw gif threads) deleted entirely?

If a single post was the problem why not just delete the offending post and not the whole damn thread.

I deleted one thread, I think created by Post hoc (the WSW fan), that was basically saying "we don't have enough WSW threads".

The amount of threads created particularly yesterday crossed the line of being #bantz to being spam. If you want to wind up WSW fans, do it in one of the already-existing threads (and remember to keep it PG13, and by the rules :lol: ).

Closing threads because they evolve in a different direction than the way Joffa wants them to evolve is an abuse of power.

I sometimes wonder if Joffa would be happier if there were no posters left to complicate his constant copyright infringement.

Gif threads are best threads though.

If people locked them and said why then people wouldn't keep creating them lol.

I thought it was more to do with it being about WSW, during that period yesterday where everything was becoming WSW spam. I didn't think it was necessarily because it was a gif thread.

But in saying that, I'm sure I've seen ages ago someone get worked up about how gif threads sucked their bandwidth up. Perhaps gif threads in general are considered spam and/or not suitable to these forums? I'm not all-knowing like other mods - clarification may be needed by whoever (I assume Joff?) locked it.

The bantz is fine within reason, it was just the amount of threads being created (and hence spam) that I think was the issue.

More threads were being created because the old ones were disappearing without any reason.

Exactly. It's also concerning that there doesn't appear to be any knowledge of consensus between mods, and that some mods were actually working against each other in their interpretation of the rules.

So is it a problem with the rules, or a problem with a certain moderator acting beyond his station... Cutting the strings, so to speak.

It was a troll thread that lasted 10 pages. I read the last 2 pages and it was just utter drivel going nowhere with insults flying back and forth. I could say "stay on topic" but what WAS the topic? Just another Heiny troll WSW/RBB thread.
