hopefully the QF pulls a decent crowd as well - it looks like tickets are available in all categories at the moment but no doubt plenty will be sold by thursday night

Not looking forward to the Melbourne QF crowd on Thursday, as talked about last night we could have had huge drawcards in straya and/or china and now its a 99% certainty that neither will play here while playing on the same night elsewhere

Its sold out though.

Like would people just throw away a minimum of $25 cause it isn't the team they were hoping to see?

If so people in melbourne must be wealthier than up here.

Still going to be Lesser Korea v uzbek potentially.

theres a decent amount but nowhere near as many Koreans as Chinese, and they were snapping up tickets hoping china would play here as it was the only chance they had

Well I for one, and I'm sure 99% of Australian fans based in Melbourne with tickets are in the same boat, will also want to at least watch the Australia QF at the pub or at home, which would mean leaving the QF in Melbourne immediately before it early. I'm sure many won't bother if they have to miss the last half hour minimum of a knockout match and instead watch both on tv.

If they broadcast the Australia v China game onto the big screens at AAMI Park however... :-k (They won't, but)

I wonder how much of the Newcastle Semi is sold. I have a very bad feeling that we may have more Japanese there than Aussies.

Impossible. There are far fewer Japanese in Australia than most people think. Most of the "asians" you see walking around are Chinese, and to a lesser extent Korean. Sushi shops are all run by Chinese or Koreans.

Estimated diasporas in Australia per wiki are Chinese (866k), Korean (156k), and Japanese (40k).

Yes but you are under estimating the amount of Japanese who have flown in.

I've read on this forum that the Japan vs Jordan game at AAMI is nearly sold out!

Wasn't someone saying that the Japanese ultras were all coming over from the quarters onwards? They would have surely been anticipating this semi

A lot of locals will go to a Japan game not involving australia to see Kagawa and Honda. Brisbane was a case in point.

Looks like the biggest winner last night was the ffa. an already sold out stadium in Vic. A potential sell out in Brisbane. and if results go well a definite sell out in Newcastle. only problem is the overall avg is going to be lower than expected now that Australia won't be playing at stadium australia for the semis. could have been 60k+, but now it might not reach 40.

FYI to those out of state complaining about the low crowds in Sydney. It doesn't help that the stadium is quite possible the worst on in the Country

My tickets bought on Friday were PAX 25032. I'm not Japanese. The chance to see Endo live before he retries was too good to pass up.

No way

The FFA would have preferred the semi final to be80,000 people in Sydney with Australia v Iran

Instead of than 25,000 at Newcastle v Japan

Capacity at Hunter stade is 33k, but that Afc are selling seated tickets only, dropping it to 22k or something. Though, once you buy your seated ticket, you are then allowed to go sit on the hill. Makes me wonder why they don't just sell tickets for the hill???

The atmosphere for the game in Newcastle will be spectacular.

Fuck you haters. It would be a travesty for all us who bought tickets to have this taken away from us.
