The infectiously vibrant Asian Cup football tournament being contested in Australia is an encouraging portent for the Fifa U-20 World Cup New Zealand is to host this winter.

The tournament, held for the first time outside Asia, has been a raging success with crowds exceeding Football Federation Australia's wildest dreams, and contests capturing the imagination of the wider sporting public.

If they want to be a part of our league, how about showing us some respect? NZ HAVE to accept that we (i.e. Australia) have farked off from their shitty little corner of the world to play football in Asia.

If they want to continue to have an isolated South Pacific “local rivals” mentality, then fine, but we’re NOT a part of it.

Apparently it is so offensive that the journalist should be sacked immediately.

How can anyone argue by plates, India is part of our plate, and Europe and Asia are on the same one.

The Australian plate is in the process of colliding with the Asian plate and at some point in the future Asia and Australia will be joined, although many of us won't be alive when this happens.
