More importantly, I hope this convinces state governments here finally that football delivers, and they'll bid for this again next chance we get.

Sorry for you Adelaide guys. Would've loved to see some action at Hindmarsh. Love the place.

Hope SA and WA were taking notes a 24 team tournament will have 20 more games than AC 2015 if there is a round of 16, so the 5 venues this time will increase to at least 7 or 8 in future you would think if Oz was to host again in 2023 or 2027 you wold hope there might be flexibility to have venues such as SFS and AAMI to hold lower attendance matches and Stadium Australia and Etihad/MCG hold Oz matches and Knockout matches

For the biggest games, MCG is the best stadium in the country.
Amazing atmosphere, 100,000 people, it doesn't get any bigger.
While the views are horrible compared to a rectangular stadium, it's still decent.
And after being to Stadium Australia last night, the views there are not much better. With the exception of Level 1, the rest of the stadium is in the oval figuration. And even on Level 1 at Stadium Australia, you got the long ass ends because of the rugby.

Hope SA and WA were taking notes WA 100% won't be paying for any games until the new dual purpose stadium (read AFL) is finished. Word is though that they've agreed to bid on games in the future if thrown a few freebies before then. No idea on the truth of this though. I guess we'll see if Perth ends up with a minor qualifying game next WC campaign.

Given that qualifiers are played on week nights this is a major issue. Look how the FFA treated them for the cup and recently with hot weather. Play for East Coast viewers. They can hope for a weekend friendly perhaps.

Plus with the AFC having more of an input into schedules they would prefer the later starts so maybe even a 7pm WST/9pm EST would be acceptable. Also no heat issues in winter, and usually the conditions will be drier than on the east. Edited by that_dood: 3/2/2015 04:13:28 PM

Rumours are we australia will be hosting the qualification stages of our world cup route. Adelaide and perth head the favoured cities.
