Grand Mufti rejects PM on admonishing the imams who say homosexuality is punishable by death. Rejects language such as 'moderates' and 'extremists' as divisive. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if grand mufti supports ISIS

ok so there are a crap load of senate candidates in victoria this year. Based purely on their websites this is a summary of all political parties actual policies. I only include what appear to be their major policies listed on their website and only if they are concrete. If they made a policy anouncement elsewhere and I missed it thats their fault for not updating their website. If I got something wrong thats Australia's fault for have 110 senate candidates
Labour: centre left party running on reducing negative gearing, capital gains tax concessions, a carbon tax and a tax on high super accounts to pay for more free medical visits, more money on childcare, more money for disability and schools. They also say they will lock up refugees indefinitely if they arrive by boat. They have a whopping 100 policies. Too many to go through
Libs: they say they will tackle climate change by increasing renewable energy rather than a carbon tax. They are cutting taxes on business and high income earners. They are proposing a large cash payment of about 5000 to anyone who has a baby. They sy they will lock up refugees indefinitely if they arrive by boat. They also propose increasing the military. In the media there has been talk of cuts to spending but on their website I'm only finding tax cuts and spending proposals so it may not give the whole story. Even without the whole story they have a whopping number of policies this year like labour. Too many to go through
greens: have a surprisingly skinny policy list this year the major ones I can see are not locking up refugees that arrive by boat but processing them in the community, making projects in former mining towns to create jobs, and have a fund to make housing more affordable. I don't see the tax policy to support this but perhaps its there somewhere
AMEP: party involves the incumbent motoring enthusiasts party. They support money for the auto industry and....stuff.... australian country party: involves killing feral animals rather than sterylizing them, decentralizing national parks (whatever that means) recreational hunting and gambling. What a weird party Animal justice party: basically protect animals Australian liberty alliance: single issue party devoted to restricting muslim immigration Arts party: If you guessed they support funding for the arts that would be a good one christian democrats party: no policies listed on the website. Apparently they like families church and community (probably puppies too) but no information about specifics citizens election council: wiki says they are facists. Their policies page mysteriously doesn't have policies but has statements about a coming depression and how global warming is a fraud christians australia: They promise to release policies later on the following issues (leaving it a bit late!) making things better for single income families, stopping domestic violence and sexual abuse and making fatherhood easier. There is a lot of vague ideology there which I won't regurgitate. But they actually do have a lot of policies on other issues. They say mandatory counseling before divorce, making prosititution legal everywhere but making it illegal to visit a prostitute if the prostitute dobs you in, raise the drinking age to 21, tax incentives for private schools to invest in school facilities, more cycling lanes, reverse cuts to age pension, inaction on climate change, make politicians pray daily, less sexual content in advertising, restrict abortion, extra money from the government if they have an unplanned baby, restrict euthinasia, quadruple foreign aid, more christian refugees Democratic labour party: community processing for asylum seekers, tax foreign buyers of australian property 17.5%, universal healthcare and universal housing, pre marriage education, against gay marriage, elsewhere (not on their page) they boast about opposing the carbon tax thought they say they are pro environment and anti climate change drug law reform party: legalize drugs family first party: they have a 12 page "policy" booklet without a single policy on it. It sounds like they are against gay marriage though. They also say they don't believe there is a scientific consensus on climate change. Not exactly a policy but... Health australia party: "choice" on vaccinations and funding for alternative medicine Darren Hinch Justice party: No policies on their webpage. They say something about locking up pedophiles for longer though... Jacqui Lambie Network: Bring troops home but redeploy some troops to fight isis. Royal commision into sexual abuse in the military. Increase wages for troops, raise welfare payments to veterans, more money for tafe, financial transactions tax, no tax consessions for third property negative geering, no sharia law (what the?), disclose halal certification fees, special indigenous seats in parliament, halve foreign aid, tax cuts for struggling areas, anti carbon tax, pro nuclear power, Liberal democrat party: abolish government (libertarian) mature party: privatisation of public assets only done through referendum. Double the pension. establish a national trauma counseling program, establish health clinics for the aging Australian equality party: pro gay marriage One nation: They actually have a lot of detailed policy so credit to them. Unfortunately its even worse than their reputation. Abolish carbon tax, ets, foreign climate aid, renewable energy target, have a royal commision into the "corruption of climate scientists", review the bureau of meterology with regards to "bias in weather reporting", stop teaching kids climate science...you get the picture there is actually more, zero net immigration, ban muslim immigration, lock up refugees who arrive by boat...anyway these guys are nuts pirate party: replace welfare with a gauranteed income of 11000. Make it easier to illegally stream game of thrones (well it won't be as illegal). Bunch of technocratic policies I couldn't be bothered learning progressive party: tax on all financial wheeling and dealing. increase super annuation. 32 hour working week. Cap ceo payments to 100xminimum wage. 24 weeks parental leave. Pro gay marriage. Double refugee intake and community process arrivals by boat palmer united party: ban paid political lobbyists. Deficit spend in tough times to stimulate economy. Oppose carbon tax. renewable energy party: increase renewable energy target rise up australia party: eliminate all taxes apart from on imports and exports. 2% tax on all banking transactions (which they claim would raise 30% of gdp in revenue :D). Separate investment banking from ordinary banking. Jobs given to unemployed which they must take (not sure where the jobs are coming from). Oppose any action on global warming. Lock up refugees indefinitely ban to stop muslims. Socialist alliance: ok so they have the most policy of all including policy on "bolivia" (what the?). I'll try and highlight a few. Reparations for aboriginees. 100% renewable energy target. Community processing science and cycling party: Double science funding, increase school funding, introduce ets to fight climate change, something to do with cycling secular party: in a mirror image of some of the christian parties they have a long list of principles but not a single policy on the policy section of their web page socialist equality party: they are trotskyist...does this really mean they believe in a continual violent revolution? Can't find any policies on their website. They don't even have a policy page Australian sex party: not a lot of detailed policy just a long page of principles. The only detailed policy I can find is increasing the pentupling foreign aid. Apparently they are an arm of the adult entertainment lobby. Shooters fishers and farmers party: legalise guns, get rid of fishing restrictions etc. sustainable population party: want to reduce our population growth voluntary euthanasia party: If you guess that they are for euthanasia you'd be right! flux: direct voting by the public on legislation xenophon party: most of their policies are essentially promising to not change anything. Exceptions are raising the renewable energy taget to 50%. Increase childcare rebate. Slight increase in short term foreign aid. Vague commitment to pentuple foreign aid target. vague policy on pretty much everything

Leigh Sales hammered Shorten about his nonsense over Medicare. I love it. He's a used car salesman who can spin a good yarn but can't stand up to any kind of questioning that draws away from his choreographed rhetoric.
"The Liberals cannot be trusted with Medicare. I mean, this election boils down to this choice: you can have Malcolm Turnbull or you can have Medicare, you just can’t have both.”
How many times has he said this in the last month?

There is going to be a lot of angry frustrated people in my area on Saturday. Usually my local polling station is completely vacant for most of the day so you can rock up vote and be out within minutes. Until reading the it in the newspaper today, I didn't realise that they have closed not only this polling station but the two in the next town and one of the two in the town in the opposite direction. There was next to no notice that this was going to happen. I am not swayed by any party's arguments and seriously dislike all my areas candidates, so now I have go a lot further out of my way to stand in a non-moving line to have my name marked off as having "voted" than I should have to.

How many times has he said this in the last month? I don't disagree that the Medicare stuff from Shorten has a large exaggeration factor. But both sides are guilty of this. Number 1 example is the "budget emergency" proclaimed by Abbott pre the last election, which disappeared as soon as they got in. Obviously the ALP has done internal polling indicating that Medicare is their strongest issue. So they are pumping it up as a scare campaign. Its just like anti-GST scare campaign from the ALP in 1993. It's just politics man. The goal is to stay on-message. Just hammer a couple of points ad nauseum hoping that something flows through. Disappointing.

Increase wages for troops, raise welfare payments to veterans, more money for tafe, financial transactions tax, no tax consessions for third property negative geering, no sharia law (what the?), disclose halal certification fees, special indigenous seats in parliament, halve foreign aid, tax cuts for struggling areas, anti carbon tax, pro nuclear power, Liberal democrat party: (Libertarian) Reduce taxes on businesses and individuals and reduce government spending, reduce government regulations, relax restrictions around personal use of drugs and gun ownership, legalise gay marriage, pro-immigration mature party: privatisation of public assets only done through referendum. Vague commitment to pentuple foreign aid target. vague policy on pretty much everything Fantastic summary. As someone who will be voting for the Liberal Democrats, I thought I should expand on your summary for them as they do list their policies on their website and a lot of people do not understand what Libertarianism means. Edited by vanlassen: 1/7/2016 11:28:16 AM haha no worries actually when making this list i didn't count what i saw from ldp as concrete policies unless they put numbers on it (cut taxes to x amount etc) so I just tried to briefly summarize their ideology. Very brief since their are a gazillion parties. I missed the part about gay marriage which definitely counts as a concrete policy

My call: regardless of the result, Turnbull won't see out a full term.

Any actual figures which are proposed in their policies will never have the backing to be implemented. I know the Lib Dems have proposed that the Tax Free threshold is increased from $18,200 to $40,000 and a flat rate of tax above the Tax Free threshold of 20%. They also advocate for a reduction of company tax. I am unsure of the rate but I believe it was proposed at 20%.

Australia is taking the road to Government handouts with hands out like beggars on the street, rather than the aspirational route.
Talk about on the wrong track towards disaster!

The liberals caught the Labor disease of instability and played opinion poll hang the leader. Fact is, if Abbott was still in, he would beat Short on substance even more convincingly because he is a political bulldog unlike weak as piss Turnbullshit!
