Edited by jlm8695: 25/5/2015 05:05:40 PM Release clause.... not monetary offer. You dont need Franjic but wouldnt be surprised if you needed to rely on another Brisbane product to help you win. More likely you get Bresc to fill that midfield hole. Or Holland.

Anyone know what the release clause is? Knowing the a-league it's probably some poultry figure less than a million.

Thats quintuple the league record. Max 2 mil. Which still blows the record apart. Also, as some people are getting confused, its a release clause. Doesnt matter what his "value" is, just what his clause is set at. Edited by roary's mane: 25/5/2015 07:12:07 PM

We could try and regenerate Brattan's career, playing with 2 international #6's could really help him.

Deserves a massive pay day before he retires and he'll definitely get one over there. Will still be young enough to come back in a few years and be of use too.

If milligan heads to Oil league. Would victory go after Holland. James Holland has had a good few seasons in austria after almost stalling in Holland, stilll a good age 26 but not sure hell get another contract in europe. Could be a good replacement, like for like, although not at milligans level but probably equivilant to milligan at 26. Off contract this off season

Off contract this off season Valeri, Broxham are better, and we'll still have Mahazi as cover. I'd happily take him under the cap, if we couldn't get Celeski back. I hope we use our Australian Marquee position in a different area, if it becomes vacant. Burns hasn't re-signed for the Nix yet, has he? Maybe Troisi is ready to come home? Franic is also a deece option, especially if we don't end up retaining Georgevski, given that he'd be keen to keep living at home in Melbourne. Edited by paladisious: 26/5/2015 08:59:17 PM

Edited by paladisious: 26/5/2015 08:59:17 PM atm there has to be a certain appeal for fringe socceroos to play for mv. Given Ange is in Melbourne and the team is strong. Also given anges A-league is good enough policy.

Edited by paladisious: 26/5/2015 08:59:17 PM yeah not a marquee , deff under the cap. i imagine holland has a bit of an ego so i can't see him coming back to the aleague unless it is for one of the "big clubs". he is still in contention for a for squad position in the roos so he might consider a move like this to be playing in front of Ange week in week out. and he is better than Brox..

Hopefully he'll sign for one of the Melbourne clubs on minimum chips as a last hurrah, but after seeing how Heart/City treated his buddy Grella they might have scared him off. roary's mane wrote:Will lol if you get Franger on marquee wages with how butthurt Victory fans constantly are about him. m8 if Victory signed Ivan it will certainly not be the Victory fans that will butthurt about it, far from it. Constantly about him, though? Wut? roary's mane wrote:TBH you should throw cash at Jovanovic or Brad Jones to really lift the D even further heading into ACL time. Save Ansell for the Cup comps and off the bench in A League. Jovanovic I'd take under the cap if we don't end up keeping Georgievski, otherwise we're golden with Delpierre, and Ansell has more than earned a starting spot. Hopefully he'll also be starting in Rio. roary's mane wrote:Dunno about Troisi or Oli, but maybe Dario? Or Davidson? Davidson is a Melbourne boy but will surely want to stay in Europe at this point, most likely ditto for Melbourne product Troisi. Boz and Daz are good suggestions, but we're set in central attack mids, but some more finishers wouldn't hurt. I'd be happy to see Burns get the Aussie Marquee spot, in the undesirable situation of the best Australian player in the A-League choosing to vacate it. Probably still have room under the cap for Maclaren.

I'm led to believe Nathan Burns has an existing contract with Wellington which ends at the end of 15/16. So a mutual termination would have to be met if he were to play at a different HAL club next season.

Shanghai Shenhua tried to buy him for $1m six months into that two year deal in Janurary this year and they said no, so yeah, he's staying.

Butthurt is a criminally overused term on these forums, not being satisfied with the quality of a players National Team performances does not equate to "butthurt". JLM is a vocal critic of his performances but IIRC he was one of the first to suggest this possibility as he is quite clearly a great talent at HAL level.

You'll never have seen me talk poorly about Franjic when he was at Brisbane re; his A-League performances. For the Socceroos however I've stated numerous times that I think he's very weak defensively and has cost us goals.
