This interview is hard to stomach. She just lies and gets trapped in lies over and over. She's trying to make everyone think she's the victim...its the most bizarre interview I've ever seen. Why did she do this interview????? (besides the $450000). If she had layed low she would have been a distant memory in a few months. Now she looks even more evil and stupid. What was with the age thing?????? I think the money was the only reason why she did the interview...it almost seemed like she was delibrately trolling the viewers and Channel 9 into thinking she could get away with anything she says.

I understand the money, but she seemed to go in with the Idea that she could out think the interviewer and try and come out of this looking like a victim. She would have killed the interview dead in 5 mins if she just came on and said Ï lied and Im sorry". Although there are probably civil actions hanging over her head.

Does she need a lawyer? Still not sure what, and no one has said what, she can be charged with nor can they point to any specific law that she's broken. She's a blogger that lied and profited from it. Lock up half the internet.

Pretty much. However the heinous nature of the people she has screwed makes this seem far more 'criminal'.

Maybe she truly believed it. Not to pick a fight with you over this but your water diviner and pyschic types tend to actually believe what they're saying. They don't actually think they're lying.

Just tried to do a quick search to see if there was any legal issues with defrauding donation funds and found this. Strangely similar case in the UK. What is wrong with some people http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2015/jan/09/fake-cancer-woman-sentenced-defrauding-donors

I agree with you for the most of this, but when it comes to Terminal illness people tend to loose there ability for rational thought. They become so vulnerable that they are willing to accept / try anything to stay alive. She openly claimed that she saved HERSELF by refusing standard medical treatment and relying on her diet and holistic therapies. Funny thing is when you stop chemo you feel a million times better and your appetite comes back and I can see why people would get fooled into thinking the alternative was working.

Oh I'm not disagreeing but you have to admit that if you were going to throw the law around (if possible) she'd cop it the worst given what she's done.

The 23-year-old founder of The Whole Pantry app and cookbook made more than $1 million in profits from her business. In April, it was revealed that she failed to donate $300,000 from the sales of the app to at least five charities, as promised. Victoria Police later said it would not pursue criminal charges against her. http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/health/belle-gibson-shows-face-in-public-for-first-time-since-60-minutes-interview/story-fniym874-1227425858575

Shame. I suppose donations are voluntary and their case would not stand up in Australian law

If my legal studies means anything this is a civil matter and not a criminal one. Surely people who got dupped could get her back in the pockets and blead her dry. Correct me if I'm wrong..

Correct me if I'm wrong.. Jesus wept! Better check if that degree you're doing is refundable. I can just see it now. Aggrieved customer: Your honour I've been "dupped" (sic) because I bought this book ($23.00) on wellness and eating and stuff and an app that cost me $3.79 and umm something something about some portion of the profits going to charity mumble mumble. Judge: Fark off idiot. And take the bloke with the Mickey Mouse law degree with you. Edited by MUNRUBENMUZ: 3/7/2015 12:43:14 AM
