Beach: Good effort and needs an A League starting spot. Talbot: Have a shave and go away Italiano: If he stays another year at Gladbach he can't be taken seriously anymore. Popovic: Was alright and just needs to play every week and grow and we'll see. JCP: Generally ok and will carve out a career. Farrell: One of the best prospects and is doing a lot and more of what is required. Mauragis: Handy type who'll be an A League mainstay. Hollman: Underwhelming and copped a knock today. He's got some growth but the ceiling is nearing Teague: He's got to keep playing but anther Joey hype that'll fade I think. Youlley: Not the best as a newer member. He's in Europe and has time. Valadon: Still very young and promising. Mlianovic: I felt he showed bits of his A League play. He's got to play every week. Brook: Fine for the A League and his national team career is done.: Toure Has to find a club for regular starts. Definitely got potential. G Kuol: Stupid loan move and needs a full EFL season or full season anywhere. A Kuol: Disappointing as he was in the last U23 tournament. He's on the outer national team radar. Segecic: Doing the right thing with his loan. Decent minutes and got plenty of time. Velupillay: He gets in the right areas but lacks end product. Frustrating.

+x+x+xA number of players playing their last game in a gold shirt tonight and good riddance. Who are you most disappointed by? The Kuols were terrible, and to be honest not sure why alou was picked considering he isn’t even first choice for many a league games I felt we lacked a controlling midfield. Tired of the Teague hype. Hollman underwhelming but he's going to grow more I think. A lot now will invariably fade into A League deadwood. India etc beckons. With youth a 3rd have already hit their peak, a 3rd will follow a typical trajectory and a 3rd will exceed expectations. Wouldnt surprise me if we had 20 players from 2001-2004 play at least as high as the championship

+x+x+x+x+xPersonally I think U23 is a waste of time and money. To assume we should beat Indonesia is simply arrogance. Why should we be better at football than Indonesia? They have more than 10 times our population and are becoming a powerhouse economy. Football is their number one sport. They have the pick of the best athletes. We don't. So why the assumption of superiority in football? Fact is that all the south East Asian countries are catching up. Fast. We are small country where football is sport number 3 or 4 for the best athletes. It will be more difficult for us to compete as time moves on, and we are seeing that now. These U23 performances are not some kind of glitch after which normal service will resume. And you what? That's a good thing. Strong regional football equals meaningful competition and more interest and hopefully a genuine ACL that means something... If our clubs are ever good enough to compete. Its not all about population. Its the quality not quantity. Otherwise China would have won the world cup. In terms of football they are still C class nation in Asia. Right now Indo are using many mixed blood players. These players grew up in Europe. Indonesia never made it to this last stage of U23 Asian cup b4 and this is their 1st win in their history. They beat the Oz cuz this Olymroos might be the worst team not because Indonesia is any good. You will see they will get trashed by Jordan in the last game. ASEAN teams are still far behind many arab nations. Indo 2-0 up at halftime and dominant. Keep underestimating, the gap is closing fast :) Vietnam was the finalist at this tournament 4 years ago. How did they go at senior level? one poor tournament performance from one nation doesn't change the fact that the region is developing rapidly. anyway I feel no need to convince you of anything, so like I said keep underestimating. the more people that do so the better You don't need to convince me anything cuz I'm from ASEAN region and I know exactly what is the standard of these nations are. Rapidly?, my ass!!. We been saying that for the past 30 years since 1990. So you don't need to acknowledge me anything about ASEAN standards of football. Even if they make the Olympics under u23 they still far far away from being the top 10 in Asia or close to making the world cup. Thailand is the strongest one there but if you ask Thai ppl there're still another 20 years at least for them to make the world cup.

+xWhat are the odds they don't fire Tony Vidmar? I think it's high. We know FA, he's one of the boys. Aurelio vidmar in the a league has been enlightening. Best squad in the comp and crazy inconsistent. He might come good but its crazy to give these inexperienced coaches the job because they are former socceroos

+xI thought Mo Toure actually had a decent tournament considering his lack of service and no goals He's got the moves. Sure we may say wasteful shots but if he played regularly, he'd be very sharp.

+x+x+x+x+x+xBrook will never make the seniors. Dude is hopeless Yeah been saying this for ages. I'm glad I don't have to watch him anymore. Good to see the 2001-03 guys move on. The 01's are very similar to years before them that plague the Socceroos with issues. Robertson volpato circati neiwenhof yazbek bos and triantis all in that age group tho. The better 2004-2008 players will also leave before the tournament What? I'm referring to players at this tournament, 4 of those guys have not been involved with this cycle at all. Right but the next lot will be just as good because all the excitinf players will be unavailable and uninvolved I've already replied with work arounds. Fingers crossed fa try them

+x+xI don’t believe there is a single player in this side who is ready for senior team This is the bin squad. The players not selected for numerous reasons are the ones who some claim will beat the A squad and it's a fair claim I feel. Yeah gutted coz im skeptical fa will do what is needed to qualify going forward and we have learnt that even a pool of decent a league players isnt enough (tho a weaker squad with the austtalian coach can do the job)

+x+x+xWhat happened to Garang Koul? Why is he so bad now? Couldn't dribble and physically disadvantage to everyone. Tbf I've been saying this for ages that Garang isn't as good as we make him out to be. He's physically weak. I remember even when he got picked for the Roos at 17, I was saying Irankunda > Garang and it's not close. Now the gap has become much greater. Garang needs 3+ years before he can contribute as a European winger. He did have a starting spot in the eredivisie at 18 for a while for the first time since brett holman. Think he still has a great chance to make it yeah unfortunately that was based on A-League merit and World Cup and it didn't sustain which is the only thing that matters. We will see but he is clearly years off being efficient

+xSo serious question: how do we qualify for the olympics gking forward? Can we make the national coach in charge of the olyroos during qualification like indonesia do? Is there any hope we can get euro players A league expansion and an nst will increase our depth spmewhat Many nations have complained about lack of access to Euro players to FIFA and AFC so I'm hoping next time it'll be during an international window, or change the format and make it over several windows, like the Matilda's qualifier. No Olympics for another 4 years anyways so there'll be an Asian Cup in 2026 with no qualification.
