Our decision making in the final third has been world class this last 20 minutes.

Oh ok! Haven't seen either but after some (quick) research they look decent particularly Baford (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOuT-oyscBE). According to Fox Pulse he plays 15, 16 & 18's and was top scorer at Coffs. Abais played at Coffs too but Jesse Gibbs seemed to be the star for that age.

I believe this GK is the 2001 born.

FT 8-2

I was impressed with the 2nd half.
First half was the worst they've played.

2 things:
I loved the decision making if these lads, it's a joy to watch.
Also, their conduct with referees has even fantastic. Very few bookings, and even if it's soft call on a foul or a bad challenge by the opposition, they just get up and get on with it. Very, very impressive.

Hard to believe there are players in our team who started this tournament as 13 year olds.

We play thailand in 2 days. Mon.

The second half Oz had 10 shots to Philipines 2.

Overall 19 shots for Oz to 8 for Philipines.

Ironically Australia played a poor first half, but scored 5 goals to 2. They were clinical in scoring 5 goals from 9 shots.

There was outstanding attacking interplay for the 5th and 6th Oz goals.

I'm not sure whether Phillipines used most of their energy in the first half, but from 45 mins to 55 minutes Oz dominated possession having 6 shots for 0 goals.

Whether a few fresh subs came on for Oz, I don't know. Phillipines were then struggling and played a half press with less intense squeezing.

I've just watched Sydney FC playing Sorrento in the first half.

I know it is preseason for SFC, but their inability to break through a tight Sorrento defence was disturbing. In many Sydney players, their technique was below these under 16s, even though the Joeys are playing tough conditions on a tough pitch. SFC are playing on a good playing surface too.

SFC players often had a lot of time on the ball but their passes were not accurate enough , so players had to move into less than optimum body shape to play forwards by moving into the wrong position to receive a slightly mishit pass.

The attacking interplay from the Joeys, even though they made a lot more mistakes having frequent build ups disturbed, was far better, more penetrative and much more exciting than SFC's.

A couple of other differences, with almost a second string SFC team playing a very well organised Sorrento defence, are that the Joeys' players have:

* Faster handling speed (ability to receive and pass the ball on).

* Are more both footed.

* Have faster feet (ability to bring the ball under control with nimble footwork). SFC players often look more cumbersome and have worse balance when controlling the ball.

* More effective at taking first touches forward in confined space.

How did we play? It seems like the team missed more chances and still scored 8 goals...😳

The ability of these kids to create many goal scoring chances is really encouraging.

And also by reading the comments it seems like fatigue especially it's their 4th game in 6 days is starting to kick for these boys I feel sorry for them given how highly talented they are.

Played well in the second half.

Ironically 5 goals were scored in the first half, when we were our worst in the tournament.
