If Vidmar survives this questions must be asked.

This game went so typically I don't know what else I expected. Generally shit play, West Asian opposition time wasting, last minute crossbar, inevitable 0-0 draw to knock us out.
Fuck I hate playing Jordan.

We did not create one decent chance for the whole game. Maclaren was given nothing and almost scored that very difficult chance at the end. Passing was simply not good enough, too many passes went straight to the opposition.

Goodbye Vidmar.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Im devastated for the boys, we didn't deserve to win or qualify out of the games we have played.

Also not getting past the group stages here is embarrassing, and we don't even have the fall-back of saying it's youth level and we played well, because we didn't. I like Viddie, particularly as a South Australian, but this was not good enough.

Postecoglou should be considered for taking over the U23 job as well, especially in Tournaments like this. Their games don't clash with his senior fixtures and he'd be able to have full control of preparing players for his senior team.

That was one of the most pathetic displays of 'football' i have ever seen. Seriously, a must win game and we serve up this shit? As Bowden said, 2 Olympics, and a chance for our boys to test themselves against the best young talent in the world, down the fucking drain, whilst Vidmar and co. will probably get another crack in four years time and dish up the same old shit.

Agree , but we also need players to learn to relax on the ball especially our midfielders and backs , two many times today we just turned over the ball when under very little pressure.

Simple reality is the player are just not good enough, where was the ball movement rather than staying in their positions, poor passing, decision making.
But i do agree its time the youth teams need a facelift especially with the u23s and u20s too.

Appalling, feel sorry for boys that played well. Lennox, O'Neil, geira, deng and somewhat Mclaren, hoole I'd hate to be Mclaren, probably thinking what else he could have done. How Antonis only got a short stint off the bench and didn't come earlier I have no idea, Brillante must have something over Vidmar?

I expect the NC kids coming through would be more suited to this style, but we need the right coaches in charge.
Geez work in a few hours, struggle street for me....

Sick of seeing the same pattern of attacking play not working at youth level as well as national level. Whenever we win the ball back in a promising attacking position we seem to want to slow things down immediately and restart front defence just so it looks like were playing 'possesion' football. Amount of times Geria and Gersbach could have gotten in behind the defence but instead chose to immediately cut back the a midfielder of defender is ridiculous. Huge changes needed! Oh and Vidmar out.

He had 4 years to set right the shambles of a campaign in 2011 and he has done sweet fuck all. The matchday selections in all three games were dumb, the movement in the final third was completely predictable and he has now cost us two Olympic Qualifications in a row. Him and Okon have been pathetic with the national youth teams and both should never be allowed into the program again. After all these years im still trying to figure out how he got the job in the first place, let alone how he managed to survive that fucking dreadful 2011 campaign. If he is still living off the glory of his ACL run with Adelaide then serious questions need to be asked..........

also i think our U23 and our youth heavily rely on the older senior players too much for guidance. when we put them together they have no direction and no idea.

If he is still living off the glory of his ACL run with Adelaide then serious questions need to be asked.......... His time with the FFA precedes Eric Abrams, Luke Casserly, David Gallop, Ange and Steven Lowry. We wonder if he was even called into account for the London 2012 debacle, probably some excuses made there with not the best being made available - weak excuses at that time with Rogic and co still about. Going to pull out that one again?! It's got to stop now - the guys above, they are all new, new regime - alot has changed since Viddie first appointed to the NTS set up in 2010. Holger long gone, as to the predecessors of the above. Holger didn't last, but he has. Ange is a genuine breath of fresh air and seeks wider control over wider change in the NT set ups. That's why he was here for this tourney. The set up is outgrowing even the way Viddie was appointed or even perhaps, the role of a coach of the U23 team at all - give it to Ange for 2020! Ange inherited Viddie, as did the FFA from Buckley, Han Berger and co. They have little to no reason to keep him on, his past record bad and it's grown to be appalling now. The Olyroos are both more about results and more about refined performance, as prospective Socceroos - especially under Ange. They're not a youth team! Yet they deliver neither - the Joeys and Young Socceroos execute our style better than our Olyroos teams do and some may argue that's down to cattle, but we see through Viddie's time how the coaching regimes play their part in this too, with Ange and his brother Tony at Joeys level, getting their teams to perform more at the fluent level we aspire of our teams. Viddie's Olyroos teams have constantly failed to meet performance standards over two generational campaigns, two failed Olympic attempts. Something has got to give. This team is made up of players that have represented oz in youth teams and it's just not good enough. We follow the same trend ais kids make the majority of joeys team, joeys make up the majority of u20s team who then go on to make up the bulk of olyroos. So in hindsight we are selecting players at 14-15 and sticking with them...... How about we start looking outside the box for players.
Players develop at different rates.... Do the oz football selectors know this
Scoring and creating chances is a major problem in all our youth teams. Just look at the last 10 -15 games each has played.... We are out scored noticeably in all age groups

It seems goals don't matter if you can pass it around at the back. Very depressing.
