Forgot about Reiners, he'd definitely have to be in the squad.
Agree with DDS, although I put him at RW as he seems to be playing there at Roda from what I've seen.

I'm wondering if there are more 1997-born talents to push through into the A-League and elsewhere. It can't just be the small handful of DDS, Gersbach, Deng, Alessi and a couple others. Those talents who may be about with the NYL teams of A-League clubs at present, they will be a variable in the mix. I think we already see some of those names in the squad that featured in the AFC Qualification phase, here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Young_Socceroos#Current_squadKuzmanovski was top-scorer in those qualifiers and is such a highly touted talent. It's a shame he hasn't seen a smooth upward trajectory since his move from WSW to City, but there's still room for that to change.

This gen coming up with the young socceroos could potentially be the most talented we had a long while, just my concern is simple is the preparation and the coaching i.e Paul Okon.whom i don't think he can get the best out them in the system Ange wants them to play.
------------------------------------Glover-------------------------
Nigro(is he eligible?)-------Deng-----Rowles----------Gersbach-------
----------------------------------Rose------------Mells--------------------------
--------------------------------------Brimmer/Kalik----------------------------
--Kuzi/Armanakas-----------------------------------------------------------Fofanah/Arzani----
----------------------------------------Blackwood/Reiners-------------------------------------
Sketchy but a lot of talent.
I don't think selecting DDS is needed given they won't release him.

Talking about the Joey's any news on which clubs they might going to local or even international?
So far Perth have got Reiners, Kosta Petratos and Brisbane have got Caletti.

Thanks for reminding us CharlieYankos - Reno Pispoco could be right in there! http://www.transfermarkt.com/reno-piscopo/profil/spieler/265093Barca4Life wrote:Talking about the Joey's any news on which clubs they might going to local or even international?

Jackson Bandiera with WSW, Lucas Derrick was already with Victory's NYL team when he was at the U17 WC and Cameron Joice signed with his home-town team, the Newcastle Jets. There may be others? And you may be sadly right Barca, in regards to DDS - if the Olyroos couldn't secure his services, then what chance to the Young Socceroos have?! Actually, a sad irony is that DDS, Ikon, Irvine and others would not have been blocked if the opportunity was the Olympics themselves. That may be the same if this generation of Young Socceroos can qualify for their 2017 U20 World Cup. If Lionel Messi could feature and star for Argentina at the 2005 U20 World Cup, then DDS and co will, in the 2017 edition, should we qualify. Edited by GloryPerth: 10/2/2016 10:16:23 PM

I'm more than fine with our players not going on young socceroos duty and staying at their clubs in a bid to get regular game time. It can be really damaging to a player's career when they can't get a rhythm at their club. Exhibit A If Terry wasn't fucking called up for every single olyroos camp he would probably be regularly playing overseas by now after a few years of regularly starting for Sydney, and would be in the first 11 in the national team. At Watford, but very heard to find any updates... Posted this just then at the Aussies Abroad thread. Apparently Xane Zaineddine has not been at Watford for ages (Hasn't been on any of the U18 squads) and was at Atletico Madrid in november. https://twitter.com/iamxanez/status/663063461514059776No idea where he is now though, a reputable member at the watford forum said that Xane would be revealing his future plans pretty soon.

Cheers mate... Atletico, eh? As he says, a spot there could be just the place for a striker/forward to hone his game... Edited by eldorado: 13/2/2016 12:22:25 PM

He looked like a Coerver kid... Yep he's another one, at the under 17 world cup with the joeys he wasn't even our best player, actually a few in the team outshone him.

Bump. So as Barca4Life posted the U16 AFC championship groups have been picked. Barca4Life wrote:Quote:Australia has learned their opponents for September’s AFC Under-16 Championships in India overnight. The Aussies were drawn in Group B for the Continental tournament alongside Japan, Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan. The 16-team tournament sees the top two teams in each group qualify to the quarter-finals before the four winners progress to the semi-finals. The top four ranked teams of this year's AFC U-16 Championship will qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017. Australia qualified for the tournament with wins over Guam (14-0), Myanmar (3-1) and Vietnam 1-0). http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/article/australias-draw-for-afc-u-16-championship-revealed/13jot1dqczs131nynx65b4sm67 They should finish in the top 2 we would think, they cross over group A which contains Iran, UAE and Saudi Arabia which would be a tricky quarter final to make the world cup. The last group did well so hopefully they can qualify too. Edited by Barca4life: 27/5/2016 11:40:34 AM These will be the boys we watched at the AFF last year i'm guessing. It will be good to see how they progress, especially since most have been together at the NTC for about a year by then. Wonder if we will have any pre tournament games and where the squad will be released. We also have the u-19 championships a month later where we're drawn against Uzbekistan, China and Tajikistan.

Last year the boys had a hard time with Vietnam but controlled most of the game on a shocking pitch and very hot conditions. Japan will be a great test. You would think that we could finish top two and go from there. I know there is a lead up tournament in Cambodia again this year, starts 10th July. There have been a few players trialling atm along with the boys at the COE.

The FFA COE haven't been doing well in the Canberra NPL this season, assuming there are many players to choose from in other places?
