Im not gonna make a comment about Goodes because I dont follow AFL and dont really know what the situation is.
BUT, interestingish tidbit, I once had to do an Indigenous Studies course at uni (was 2 semesters back-to-back from memory) where basically every lecture we would be openly told (accused?) that we are blatant racists and nobody had any rite to deny it.
The catch? Lecturer was a fucking white CANADIAN! Haha. Cut it out, Canada.
My tutor, who was an Indigenous lady, loved getting into the types of arguments many of you are having about racism here, but saw it more as a philosophical discussion rather than an accusatory thing. Learned shitloads from her and probably respected her more than any of my other lecturers or tutors because she was so willing to listen and learn and discuss things rather than force her opinion down your throat. Her opinion was that there are racist people, but a lot of it is unintentional and more of a 'white privelage' thing as well as a heap of reverse-racism (is actually somewhat how this media storm feels to me). We openly discussed the impending extinction of Indigenous culture, which is inevitable, and this was probably one of the best ongoing discussions we had. Also oftentimes discuased the benefits Indigenous Aus. recieve pretty frequently.
I think its important for everybody to talk to the older generation of Indigenous Australians and have these discussions. Have an open mind and try to learn. Dont listen to the white media bash the shit out of the "You're all racists" card to maintain a level of PC.

I feel sorry for Goodes in all this.
Seems like his biggest "crime" was to stop and identify some girl brought up by her mum to think Aboriginals are beneath her.
I see alot of remarks about "if Goodes hadn't victimized that girl we wouldn't be booing him."
I dont get where this girl became a victim? Is it ok to be racist as long as you are under 16?
Should everyone just accept what is called out to them and 'harden up'.
If I had a down syndrome daughter and someone yelled across a restaurant "your daughter looks like a munted retard" do I just accept it and keep eating. Am I in the wrong for having the staff remove this person. Is he now the victim?

Very well, If the former quotes are indeed satirical then I apologize. Having read some of his writings and many of his tribesman it was easy for me to accept these as truths.
He still genuinely promotes some outlandish concepts that if were expressed by a white gentile and directed at any other race besides white, would result in severely destroying their career, legacy, future employment, social circles etc

Its not OK for them to say the things they say. that is against free speech Is shouting fire in a theatre free speech? There's conditions on whats OK to say and we dont live in the USA where they have some crazy things in their constitution like right to bear arms. Even from the perspective of an American; as the great scientist Neill DeGrasse Tyson said, the booers were anti-free speech by complaining about Adam Goodes right to express himself freely with his cultural dance. Either way the racists were on the wrong side of history.
