It frustrates me how much dull american content we get. Recently i have found some beauties mainly australian japanese and brittish. I wanted a thread where people could recommend some scarcely known non american content. Here are a few great ones
bbc: the wrong mans, life on mars, spy australia: rake, upper middle bogan japanese: the devil is a part timer, attack on titan

Love/Hate is a quality gritty Irish crime drama that has a great cast and some classic dark Irish humour. It stars Aidan Gillen (Little Finger) as the psychopathic drug king pin, Misfits fans would recognize Robert Sheehan (Nathan) in a prominent role too.

'The missing' from the UK is decent. 6 episodes or so 'Answered by fire' was a cracking 2 part series about Australia's involvement in East Timor. I highly, highly recommend it.

I think The League has seriously flown under the radar over here. Also even though it really is comedy in it's most simple form, Blue Mountain State always made me laugh

Got the first season on dvd (the current season which sbs 2 is showing) read the manga as well . Well written . Try full metal alchemist as well.

Friends isn't too bad, old classic that didn't see much air time back in the late 90s. Also Breaking Bad is another that flew under the radar. -PB

The League is one of my all time favourite comedies, the in jokes and and references they run throughout the show are brilliant, it's a shame more people haven't seen it. I can always rewatch The League and BMS without getting bored, any scenes with Thad Castle or Rafi just never fail to make me laugh.

Vikings and Marco Polo are both fantastic. Both shows have a beautiful mix of action and political intrigue.

There's already a television thread. Why couldn't this be discussed in there?

Just realized you said non-american tv shows, sorry. Still a good show though.

Spartacus. Boobs and violence. Last Week Tonight with Jon Oliver. Similar to John Stewart/Colbert. Left of field suggestion - Fool Us: Penn and Teller - is a show where magicians try and fool Penn and Teller. Simple. http://youtu.be/EAN-PwRfJcAKilljoys is watchable if you are keen on some sci-fi type stuff.

Marco Polo could have been better with it's production value. Yeah, Vikings is sensational for the budget it would have. Some of the acting is fantastic. I'm only three episodes into Marco Polo, but so far it seems like it's well worth watching.

However there was one particular episode that had pretty much nothing to do with anything When rafi and dirty randy go after their mate killer. Fuck. Seriously one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Rake is one of the best series I've ever seen. Series 3 was a little disappointing in quality in my opinion, but still good.
