"Big clubs" need small grounds?

Why then doesn't Victory use the MCG?

Because I heard on the grapevine MV is planning to build a mega stadium like no other that holds 150,000 people.

We'd fill it week in week out \:d/ \:d/

Try filling in AAMI week in, week out first.

Said it many times, use the big games Victory, Sydney for Suncorp and Perry park for the others, 5 k capacity some will miss out but at least you will break even or make a profit.

There's a lovely little stadium an hour down the road that you've already whored out home games too. Why not do it again?

Not in Brisbane. Same owner. Too expensive.

Anything else?

That didn't stop your club screwing your fans for a cheap buck and playing there anyway.

Just like MV switch from one ground to other hey, I get it now

Lol the stadiums are literally 10 mins apart. Zero comparison to selling off home games to make a quick buck. The sooner you accept that you're club is so much of a circus that it's actually worth less than Melbourne Heart the better.

Logan City Council are already putting in extra money at Meakin Park right now and have expressed a desire for a HAL team. Maybe Roar can relocate, use it as a base and only use Suncorp on big games, like Victory. Another alternative is Perry Park upgraded.

I can never wrap my head around how a government can repeatedly stand by and watch their sports teams die from shit stadium deals that they are directly in control of.

Didn't give a shit about GCU, even though the stadiums only other use is Titans home games.

If Roar do leave though , it'd probably be used as an reason to OK an increase in Concerts and if that happens then Roar won't have much bargaining power if they ever wanted to come back.

You're forgetting that Fox decides where they can play. I've said before the best thing the Roar can do is go on bended knees to Fox and ask them to let them go.

There is absolutely no point in talking about a move from Suncorp until Fox ok's it.

Just sounds like everything up north is F***cked. Stadium deals, owners everything. How can a club that was so dominate be like this now.

So do the govt see Brisbane roar as a pissy club that they don't care about weather they survive or not.

Or should they look at it as a chance to draw in tourism and marketing to their city. I mean imagine a Brisbane roar doing well. Going into the ACL and winning getting eyes on the city. Or is it not that simple.

Fox don't care who runs the Franchise, or how much it's losses are

They would care if the Competition starts to look like it's going backwards, and that would also certainly effect the TV deal negotiations

Gallups trying his best to talk it up today, but he's starting to struggle (and DDB's nowhere to be seen )

Quote:
Gallop said his expectations of another closely-fought title race would also help lift interest in the A-League's 11th season.

"We didn't quite hit the numbers that we'd like to have hit (last season)," Gallop said.

"But if you look across the rosters of the 10 teams we think we're going to have a highly competitive season.

"All that augurs well for setting us up for the next TV deal and talks around that have already commenced."

The shitfight probably helps Fox drive the price down that they're willing to pay for the a-league.

Of course after they negotiate the deal for a cheaper price they'll promote the hell out of it.

Its obvious the Bakries wanted to sell the games to the Gold Coast to save cash. Majority of their fans were pissed off so i dont know where you get no one cared bit. Until we have won any type of silverware we cant talk Cityslicker, we still are a joke on the field compared to them. Roar are a joke off the field atm but they will get it sorted once the Bakries are gone no doubt. But they will never get anywhere while playing at Shitcorp.

Or should they look at it as a chance to draw in tourism and marketing to their city. I mean imagine a Brisbane roar doing well. Going into the ACL and winning getting eyes on the city. Or is it not that simple.

Given Roar sold the 'ACL eyes' to the Gold Coast and no-one cared, I think you're probably missing something

Yep the club proved through that move they don't give a shit

There I was thinking Melbourne Heart was a joke. These guys are taking that prize very quickly.

I am actually happy I have a fellow city supporter.

Correct about the silverwear. The main joke is labelled towards the bakries who seem to take the piss and are losing fans left right and centre.

The stadium deal however will linger on and on for a while.

Conversation was about whether 'Government' cared, (tourism etc)

Luke Brattan flies to UK seeking club hoping Brisbane Roar appeal over his leaving heard soon

September 10, 2015 7:16pm

MARCO MONTEVERDEFOOTBALLThe Courier-Mail

SOCCEROOS squad member Luke Brattan has delayed his return to Brisbane from Tajikistan, instead flying to the United Kingdom for talks with clubs.

Midfielder Brattan, who remains uncapped after watching Australia’s World Cup qualifying wins over Bangladesh and Tajikistan from the bench, is with his agent Ritchie Hinton in England hoping to finalise his move from Brisbane Roar.

That is despite the Roar having appealed an independent arbitrator’s decision to rule in favour of Brattan’s bid to leave the club through a free transfer due to the delay in the payment of superannuation.

Wonder if he get's paid on Tuesday if Bakries haven't given in by then ?
