Vince Rugari @VinceRugari · 2h2 hours ago It's funny how a worst case scenario for Brisbane Roar fans today is if their owners pay their bills. This club won't get better like this

Buggalugs - you should have listened... wrote:IIRC the Gombaro matter in Court tomorrow is a "Directions Hearing", is that just a first stage ? Yes. About 15 mins in front of a Magistrate to discuss the progress of the case. See if there is a possibility of settlement. Mediation and/or trial dates set. Dates fixed for serving of notices etc.. It basically sets in motion the journey to trial.

They are all waiting for the licence to be taken away, liquidate the old roar and come in dept free. As for losing players, i guess most squads are pretty much full at this stage with cap space getting tight. Unless they are fringe player wanting more game time and the new club can offer it to them. I think most will stay. Theo to me is a prime candidate to go, although coming back from basically a year long run of injuries. But he definitely has to fight for his spot now that Jamie conversion to a sweeper keeper is coming along nicely. Brattan had made noises to leave for a couple of seasons now so these events are just a reason to be opportunistic on his behalf. He may not go yet. The point I make is that good clubs are in demand so new owners standing in the wings is no surprise. I hope the Bakries get shafted because if they don't we can expect two years of nothing. No they're not  -PB

When the FFA inevitably takes over, should they temporarily contract some MVFC staff to help the new owners run a club competently? Brisbane owners get the positive of those who have been successful at running and managing a football club helping out and MVFC can take a slice of the final sale price and finally recieve their Victory tax benefits.

Edited by jlm8695: 15/9/2015 12:51:01 PM I know your trolling but Ising the bloke who came up with the VIctory club name albeit to rebrand Carlton initially got sacked ages ago, so he is available.

All good clubs can have cash flow issues as do good companies in comparison. Good clubs don't poach players and coaches and don't suffer bare trophy cabinets for a continuous 6 years. Most certainly they are not called circus' by the media :) Edited by paulc: 15/9/2015 01:39:10 PM

Good clubs don't go from great to shite in one season. But good enough to go good again the next. A number of championships and being the best ever has it's challenges Good clubs don't struggle to find owners. Correct. Took a mere few months last time (a lot less than WSW) and this time who knows what the cash strapped mining magnate is getting up to. Expect an early sale if in FFA control. Good clubs don't allow their greatest asset to run down his contract. Pfffft, cash flow issues

As of last Friday, the Roar board now includes Rahim Soekasah and Demis Djamaoeddin, the two Bakrie Group representatives who recently visited Australia to meet Roar staff and FFA officials, including Gallop. http://www.foxsports.com.au/football/football-federation-australia-set-to-strip-bakrie-group-of-brisbane-roars-a-league-licence/story-e6frf423-1227526856465

Meanwhile, the Roar have pulled out of a behind-closed-doors match against the Young Socceroos that was scheduled to be played tomorrow on the Sunshine Coast.
Roar coach John Aloisi made the decision to withdraw his team due to a host of players being unavailable because of injury or a lack of match fitness.
