Anyway back on topic. Has some assurance been sought by the FFA that the Bakries are honestly serious about continuing on in some kind of medium term if they can't sell the license by the end of this season? -PB

Back on track. It is good to see the players get paid on time but the fact that paying your employees on time is a cause for celebration highlights just how much of an issue it is

-PB Not that I know of. There's probably been enough memberships sold in the past month to cover this months wages I've seen no evidence of Bakries putting any of their own cash in since the Sep 15 late-pay FFA are garnishing the TV money in order to get the $3m license fee paid off and rumour has it the ATO are garnishing as well.

David Pourre, who is currently hoping to be given his job full-time, now talking up the 2 Bakrie reps Quote:.................................... Pourre praised the impact of Bakrie representatives Rahim Soekasah and Demis Djamaoeddin, who have remained in Brisbane to oversee the recapitalisation of the club. Both have experience in the football industry, with Djamaoeddin currently a director of the Indonesian Football Association. "They've been a good stabilising factor," Pourre said. "They've been to training sessions to see the boys, to the women's training session as well, and been around the club providing any insight and support as they can," Pourre said. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-10-15/brisbane-roar-owner-bakrie-group-honours-payments/6857604?section=sport Soekasah seems to have been involved with running previous (and now sold/defunct) Bakrie football teams. Demis Djamaoeddin looks even dodgier. Summary 1. Indonesian Football Association won't get rid of Match-Fixing clubs (including mysterious deaths of Overseas players) 2. Indonesian Government have tried to do it, which led to FIFA claiming interference and banned Demis and his cohorts Below is post I made a month ago. Buggalugs - you should have listened... wrote:Meet Demis Djamaoeddin According to my limited Googling Skills, New Roar Board member and Gallop deal negotiator is also a Director of the currently suspended Indonesian Football Association. The Indonesian Government wants a couple of Indonesian Super League Clubs banned because they say their owners are dodgy as and rampant match-fixing, but Demis's IFA won't do it for some reason FIFA is backing the IFA on principle, (apparently FIFA has some) and the ban's been in place 4 months now. Best English article I could find Quote:The row erupted in April when the PSSI halted the country's top-flight league due to a disagreement with the sports ministry over the participation of two clubs. The ministry then froze all activities of the PSSI, and said it was setting up a transitional body to replace the association, which has long faced allegations of corruption and mismanagement.
FIFA, which takes a dim view of governments interfering in domestic associations, backed the PSSI and gave Jakarta until May 29 to allow the association to resume activities, or face a ban from world football.
A series of last-ditch efforts this week to resolve the row, including an attempt by Indonesia's vice president to persuade the sports ministry to back down, came to nothing. Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi has refused to change course and in recent days expressed hope that the crisis engulfing FIFA would delay the sanction.
Top FIFA officials were arrested this week after being accused by US authorities of taking huge bribes, while Swiss police are investigating the awarding of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
President Joko Widodo has supported Nahrawi, saying urgent reform is needed in Indonesian football. "It doesn't matter if we are absent from international competitions for a while as long as we can win big in the future," he was cited as saying in the Jakarta Post newspaper on Saturday, before the suspension was announced. "I'm confident when the reforms are made, we will be moving forward."
The suspension is just the latest crisis for Indonesian football, which was only just recovering from a feud between the PSSI and a breakaway association, which led to the creation of two separate leagues. FIFA also threatened to ban Indonesia over that row but the two sides eventually came back together, avoiding a sanction.
Weak management, poor security at games, and  high-profile cases of foreign players dying after going unpaid  have also cast a shadow over football in the world's fourth-most populous country.
