That might mean letting none in, until the scourge of extremism is well and truly defeated. It's obviously wrong to discriminate based on religion but it's more wrong to risk the safety of the community by inviting in terrorists. I would say that a governments' first and foremost priority is the safety of its citizens. Whether or not people in a another country are offended by their actions comes way down the list, well after the safety of their constituents has been secured. I would certainly hope the Australian government would place our safety above offending foreigners. Turnbull i think will be hoping that among those syrian refugees taken in wont be ISIS militants because if they carried a paris style attack here , Abbott might stage a coup and end up beinf PM again The only PM Abbott will have ever again is a post mortem. Probably, but he is a poster boy for the conservative movement. He is also a bit of a c#nt, and that can be a handy attribute in the fight against terror and radicalism - just like it was against people smugglers. If shit was to hit the fan here it's feasible he could rise to PM again. Given the way he was deposed, through a coup rather than democratically, and given his strong support on the Liberal right leaves she door slightly open for a return.

I'd like the percentage of South Sudanese to increase and people from Afghanistan and Iraq to decrease for example. Bonus would be the Sudanese are better athletes
But of course that would be "racist" The AFL would be licking their lips. Anyone with the name Majok...gets free AFL scholarship. Edited by SocaWho: 14/11/2015 11:40:11 PM There will be a couple of Sudanese boys in the next draft

If I heard correctly, part of gatwick airport has been closed and there's a suspicious package along with someone being arrested.

The look on that bloke as helicopters began circling would've been priceless. Probably picked the wrong day to let off some bungas.

I wonder why the suicide bombers didn't enter the stadium, luckily they killed less people then they potentially could have
Could have taken out some of the players.

Chilling instagram post from a couple at the concert minutes before the terrorists opened fire. https://instagram.com/p/-CNmIZsm_s/Unconfirmed reports that the girl is safe and fine, but the guy's condition is unknown.

The bottom line is: the world is a dangerous place, and there will be casualties when things like this happen (theyve happened for as long as humans have been around) and they will always happen (doesnt matter what ideology), the chaos portrayed in the media doesnt help those who find it hard enough to leave their front door
So, stop fretting and just get on with it, please!

So within the last 2 weeks, isil has attacked Russia, hezbollah and now France. So far it's 3-0 isil. They are definitely punching above their weight.
I think it's time for Raqqa to be leveled. The Syrian government and Americans haven't cared about civilian casualties in the past, why have they been so reserved now

I would say the best course of action is trying to stop these attacks from happening. If the media don't report these things they we continue to escalate the violence until they get the attention they want. No use pretending this isn't a problem and we can just go on with our lives as if we're immune to it all.

It really isn't rocket science. Pretty much this, but I'm sure someone will soon be along to tell us that this isn't 'real islam' . Wait, I think that's Waleed Ali now ..... The next time a Muslim says Islam is a religion of peace, ask them confirm that they're aware of this: -- Did you know that a Muslim has no guarantee of escaping hell. Muslims will tell you that all Muslims are guaranteed to go to hell-purgatory and experience the flames of suffering. The only ones who are guaranteed to escape that hell are the ones who kill the infidel in jihad. -- That the Muslim "peace" verses from the Koran come from the earlier part of Mohammed's life when the Muslims were in a minority. But the later and chronologically-last parts of the Koran are the most blood-thirsty, kill the infidel parts. Ask Waleed Aly whether he knows about the principle of abrogation, where the later war verses abrogate the earlier peace verses.
