We should not be voting for people that base their agendas on "fear". A slippery slope we should not follow other countries down ...

Yes unfortunately this is true. Hence why politics in Australia are so ordinary I'd suggest. The Coalition love running scare campaigns over elections ... which is one of many reasons why I can not vote for them. Labor are slightly better. Both seem to be focusing a little more on innovation and moving forwards this election thus far though ... we'll see how this plays out as details of policies are released.

Far right and left parties definitely use fear as their main tool ... so although I may agree with some of their policies, their fear mongering does not make me trust them, and thus can not vote for them.

I tend to vote for the party that offers opportunities and forward thinking in main areas (but I suppose such as the last election I vehemently chose not to vote for the Liberals because I "feared" their environmental, scientific and financial policies). Labor offered better options in my opinion on these main points (who I didn't vote for either as the local rep for Labor wasn't up to par), so was it "fear" or is the problem so many pick the lesser of two evils?

Pauline's policies and values don't even rate a mention in my decision making process (not that I could vote for her anyway as she usually sits for the senate on the Qld ballot).

But to post stupid and basically down right inflammatory comments annoy me. If people actually speak to some muslims or catholics you will find they will have a decent conversation.
