Well it's a public holiday, it's not going to be on fox so maybe they get a decent crowd if they promote it well

Well one thing for sure. Everyone will be reminded how shit ballymore is. It needs massive upgrades in both facilities and public transport to be any real contender.

Powell played 23 games for the Phoenix and scored eight goals.
The striker said he would to thank the club for being supportive of his decision to return home to Sydney to be closer to his family.

Do I assume you refute the suggestion he's in talks with BRFC LoL? There's a huge difference between been a 4 hour international flight away from Sydney and being in Brisbane and a 1 hour domestic flight or a long drive away. Oar was the same, was homesick for Brisbane so wanted to be near family but still negotiated with the two Sydney sides. My guess is the 4 NSWs sides will be his preference but if he cant get one of those he'll play anywhere on the east coast, its not rocket science man !!

WTF are we bringing in very ordinary outsiders when Qld has football riches to choose from? Got to agree, must be half a dozen players in NPL/BPL at the same level as Pepper. without the full time professional environment. I'm neutral on the Pepper thing, I can't disagree that there aren't equivalent players in the NPL but it's also true that fringe players like Pepper are a function of this league and are there really to make up the numbers so sweating one way or another is largely pointless - whether it's Pepper or someone from the NPL they're gone again in 2 years at best, at worst they're moving on this time next year. There's only been two names linked with Roar this winter, one at the lower end of the scale and one at the upper, I'll feel s lot happier when we start to fill the 6-7 available slots with a bit of quality. Very difficult to judge the level the npl/bpl players could reach in a full time environment compared to Pepper, however has to be better in terms of engaging with the local football community. Exactly my point. What type of message is the one and only Qld club sending to all the other lower league clubs in Qld and its players................................that "even if you are as good we can't be bothered as we're lazy as fuck"? Pathetic really. I think you're over reacting, I don't see any other A League clubs sucking up QLD NPL players at Roars expense, maybe the talents not there? Nor do I see anyone on this forum trotting off a long list of names of NPL players that would make the grade, and with a bit of evidence as to why? As for the "message" Roar are supposed to be sending the NPL clubs, what message are they meant to be sending them? The weight in obligation for a Qld to look after its own area or region far outweighs that of interstate clubs. We've had great players come from lower leagues but if you don't look of course you won't find them. Interstate clubs do not have a priority in scouting for ordinary squad players interstate. The message should be that if you're good enough we will give you the opportunity at playing professionally at the Roar. A supportive message to match words with actions is what is needed. Amazing the positive effect it will have for the Roar across the football community. Former Jet set to soar with Roar North West News Jacob Grams 6 July 2016 JOSEPH Champness, who was fighting for a regular start at Moreton Bay United just 12 months ago, will soon be mixing it with the A-League stars at Brisbane Roar in pre-season training. The 19-year-old has been playing on the left wing for the Roar Youth team in the 2016 NPL Queensland competition and is one of seven players now given the opportunity with the senior squad. The former Albany Creek Excelsior junior said he intended on making the most of his chance. “I’m just looking to learn as much as I can. I’ve been a couple of times before to training and they’re really great guys and really supportive of the youngsters,” Champness said. “Every single day you’re going into that environment looking to do your best at everything, but you need to enjoy it as well. That’s when you play your best football. “I feel like I’ve definitely improved as a footballer going to the Roar because they make you think about the game a lot more and being in an environment with lots of good coaches, of course, lifts your game. “It has always been a bit of goal of mine to hopefully be in this position, but I didn’t think it could happen this quickly.” Champness said Moreton Bay United coaches Adam Piddick and Dave Harris were instrumental in helping him grab the attention of the Roar and hoped to thank the club by taking his career further.“There’s a great culture at Moreton Bay. I have a lot of good mates still at Moreton Bay United and it was a great privilege to come up through there,” he said.

Should be a little better than normal as there is extra buses for the show day. But it is a big hike from the RBH. Plus parking / driving will be a nightmare. Think Uber is the best option. Also the people saying 6k or what ever will look good. The only stand that is safe is the camera side and the hill. The stand opposite has got trees growing through it. So you will not see a crowd on the broadcast.

As you can see, there are clearly plenty of people in both tiers of the Eastern Stand. Generally, this will be an excellent test of Ballymore's facilities in there current state, the few preseason games that the Roar had there a couple years ago were good fun, they just need to ensure the bars and food shops are fully manned. Overall i think the club has a great opportunity for a really good day.

BR also kicking off a new fan engagement program this month, apparently they want to avoid the "angry sessions" of last year and do something similar to how the FFA handled the fall-out at Jets (lessons learned at WSWs launch) with a series of continuing engagements from small focus groups to larger gatherings. small sessions are already being held with public events to follow.

I live on the Coast and was down there for the Sunny Coast game recently so this came out of casual conversations over a beer or three afterwards. I get a 3 game BR membership every year but really "my team" is South Melbourne so not across Roar really lol. Basically that's just what was said, didn't ask on the other things other than to say everyone seems happy with the new CEO who was described as "full of energy" and everyone seems happier with whatever arrangements they have down there lately, which can only be a good thing.

I really feel jamie needs one more year at the roar. He needs a bit longer time developing here. Plus repeating 20 goals in a season he can probably double his pay check.
