From SGCFC Facebook page:
We are pleased to confirm that planning of our new facility is now well underway, with 4 grounds and club rooms. We are very excited about moving into our new home to be located in City Vista Ct, Taylors Hill West. #georgecrossourfuture
This has been in the works for a long time, I remember talking about this on the forums a few months back.
SGC are finally going to be on the move.

SGC are finally going to be on the move. What does this mean for the club? Will there be a delay in construction? Isn't the new facility 15km away?

Melbourne Victory PS4 NPL Victoria Tribunal RulingThe FFV ruling on Victory's penalties for the South Melb incidents was released today. Full ruling and explanation via the link. Quote:The penalties imposed upon Melbourne Victory by the independent tribunal are as follows:
Melbourne Victory take all reasonable steps to identify all the wrongdoers at the fixture and bring them to justice both before the Grievance and Disciplinary Tribunal and also Victoria Police.
That 6 championship points be deducted from the Melbourne Victory team and furthermore, there be a further 6 points deducted, such deduction to be suspended for 12 months from the date of this decision. The 6 penalty points the subject of suspension shall become actual points deducted from Melbourne Victory should it commit the same offence.

Extremely light penalty considering Heidelberg got 9 reduced to 3 points for spectators swearing at a ref.
The assessment is damning but the penalty is light.

Yes, but it sounds like MV totally coperated and were active in suspending them. No matter what the punishment was people would still whinge - but there is massive punishments handed down to individuals (seem to be unprecedented). Personally I think it's a little light on, especially if it's suspended. I wouldve gone at least 12 on that, or 6 taken with 6 suspended. Another one would be closed doors for six weeks.

The 6 suspended is basically a free hit for the remaining games, the team is all but relegated so losing another 6 points isn't really going to cause much concern for the rest of the year. Will be very interesting when south goes to Epping next month.

SGC are finally going to be on the move. What does this mean for the club? Will there be a delay in construction? Isn't the new facility 15km away? Sorry - completely missed this one. Well the teams last match of the season will be the final game held at Chaplin. After that, the club is on the move. I doubt that the construction will be completed in time for next season and I'm yet to hear where they plan to play their matches, but my money is on games being played at local junior club Westside Strikers (Brookside Reserve, Caroline Springs). It's located only a few kms away from where the new development will be. Westside Strikers started out a few years back as SGC's U7 to U10 club. This year the clubs split and GC fielded sides from U9s up, Westside Strikers from U7 up to U20s. There is a synthetic pitch, but no seating. It would have to be approved by the FFA/FFV. Both clubs still use the pitch for training, for juniors of all levels. So that is one guess, the other is Spring Hills, same thing just a few kms away, 2 synthetic pitches and a bit more space though, so it might be a preference. Westside Strikers is on a main road with not a lot of parking, Spring Hills doesn't have much parking either but is in a side street, may be a council preference. In answer to your question about distance between old ground and new, yeah it's about 12-15km or so away. The club has changed, old supporters are gone, still a few around but it will be interesting to see what sort of crowds they get after the move. We can all agree Chaplin towards the end had some of the worst facilities, shocking pitch, outdated change rooms, etc. Hopefully the change is a new beginning..
