Problems arise when Judiciary and Police start getting named but the Judiciary and Police have been excluded from the RC's terms of reference (wonder why ?)

Once Judges, Lawyers and Police get implicated, lots of convictions start looking unsound.

If the states are all the same surely this is an Australia wide issue not just the NT.

A 12 year old being told he has going to have his first period after a broomstick was shoved up his arse. Kids buggered by filthy old men, kids made to eat their own vomit, kids forced to stand for hours on end in corners, kids belted with whips and belts, kids forced to sleep in urine soaked mattresses.

The punishment dished out to the ferals is no doubt OTT but the vast majority of bleaters here has whinged in the past about how soft we are on crime and how punishment is a joke.

Apparently the kid in the main video going viral (with the spit mask on) was in there for a 24 hour crime rampage while high on ice.

He was the main focus of the episode last night. He was first sent to jail at 11, the physical abuse started then, they showed clips of it.

He was obviously already damaged from an early age as a "normal" 11 year doesn't go to jail.

What he needed was a councilor, not 3 grown men pinning him down and pulling his underwear off and being thrown against a brick wall.

Do we not have any government programs to offer counselling? Is it either a chaplain as part of Tony Abbots grant or nothing at school?

An 11 or 12 year old doesn't have the mental capacity to know the consequences of their actions when stealing a car. A grown adult does.

You cannot treat child offenders the same as adults. Because if you do you fast track them straight to the adult jail and any hope of a normal life is extinguished.

What are you going to say next? An 18 year old shouldn't be locked up for murder because his brain doesn't fully mature until his mid 20's?

The kids in this facility are most likely not coming from a safe, supportive family environment to start with. From the moment they were born, they were never given a chance to thrive

There is a need for a facility to house these boys, but no where in that facility should there be dungeons where the are locked up for 23 hours a day.

They need to be looked after by doctors and counselors not MMA fighters.

I work for an organisation that looks after Children in State Care (many who are in and out of Juvie)

Our Staff get told that and worse all the time and much more but, believe it or not, they don't punch the kid as a reply

As for an 11 year old being sent to Juvie there is no way that he was sent there without a shitload of intervention / counselling / programs / carers etc etc.

These kids aren't plonked in juvenile detention after their first arrest. They've been in and out of the court system for years.

And you know what? If some little 12 year old belted my wife and ran off with her purse I'd flog the little shit if I caught up with him.

I just watched that. I found it hard enough to work at a boarding school full of troubled kids that wanted to be anywhere but there. This was fucking horrifying to watch.

Throwing a child to the ground, stripping him down whilst several guards hold him down with their full body weight. You can only imagine what the boy thinks is going to happen to him next...........

Any person is going to be mentally fucked for life after an experience like that and that's before you get to the extended periods of solitary confinement in a shitpit, the asbestos ridden building, the beatings by guards, indiscriminate use of tear gas, the mechanical restraints, the spit masks. Then you realise that this is being done to fucking kids and you're left with no words.

Pretty sure I've seen this in America on the Jail shows when they cant control the prisoner etc Mask to stop them spitting and a chair to restrain them.

Thats a 14 year old boy who threatened self harm, not a full grown serial killer.

And Youll probably find he was acting out because he was sick of being assaulted by MMA fighters from the age of 11

Watch some of the footage of how this boy was treated since the age of 11 by MMA fighters, some of the gaurds are trained MMA fighters in that centre and they let him know it.
