+xSo Theo has been talking about how he wants to go back to playing on the right and tbh I think if he stays, which looks likely, then that's probably where he'll be best suited with occasional chances upfront depending on the game and situation. Have always thought Theo belongs wide right. Although in saying that, the game last year when Gabriel got sent off v Diego Costa, Walcott was very impressive for me as the lone striker. Held his own very well in the circumstances IMO.

If it were up to me Walcott would be sold immediately to whoever wanted him. Having said that, he may just be serviceable on the right, but still not worth what we're paying him.

8-0 against Viking FK this morning. Iwobi and Campbell both with doubles, Santi, Walcott and Akpom the other scorers along with an OG. Only real takeaway is Santi playing 90 mins.
Final pre-season game against City coming up on Monday morning where Alexis is expected to get some game time, maybe Ramsey too.

Worried for the game against us (Liverpool) next week? No Mertesacker, Welbeck, Ozil, Giroud, Koscielny, etc apparently. Your defence is already looking thin in the middle. The midfield looks good even without Ozil. I dare say that largely the same team will be start against us from the last game.

It's the opening game of the season so I'm worried regardless of the opposition lol
Good win over City this morning. Akpom and Iwobi continue their good pre-season form and Theo with an excellent goal. Sanchez looked good on his return. Only downside is Gabriel turning his ankle, looks like Holding and Chambers against Liverpool lol.

Gnabry with a double for Germany against South Korea, including a 92nd minute equaliser and Asano with another goal for Japan against Colombia at the Olympics this morning.

Ornstein reporting that Gabriel is out for 6-8 weeks and we're stepping up our pursuit of Mustafi.

No real shock but Per named club captain. Would assume Santi is vice captain.

I'm pretty keen to see a front 3 of Alexis, Theo and Iwobi with hopefully Alexis through the middle.

Here is what I think we'll see
Cech Bellerin-Holding-Chambers-Monreal Elneny-Xhaka Walcott-Ramsey-Iwobi Sanchez

Pretty much agree with that. Only change I think we could see is Gibbs at LB with Monreal shifting into the middle next to Chambers and Holding on the bench. Wouldn't be surprised if Holding starts though. Also wouldn't be shocked if Santi starts.

Yeah, some rumours that Debuchy could partner Chambers as well.
I think if Cazorla plays Walcott doesn't, with Rambo shifting wide,

Apparently it'll be Coquelin and Elneny in the middle. Can only assume if that happens it's to give the back 4, especially the CB's as much protection as possible.

So the Coquelin and Elneny stuff was true. Competitive debut for Holding.

You guys keep doing the same thing near on every year - the world is ending and its only 1 game into the season yet I know we will see the posts deeper into the season with chests out we are beasts I love this I love that and posting shots of players who should be cat walk models lol...... We could sense this was going to happen from a couple of weeks ago - imo its not arsen its the players not performing on the day. Damn, we shipped 3 soft goals, Klopp out.

Hello darkness my old friend.
For the first time, but certainly not the last, I began to believe that Arsenals moods and fortunes somehow reflected my own. - Hornby

There is one reason we are in the position we are and that's Arsene. It's not the players fault that yet again we are not ready for the beginning of the season. It's not the players fault that we were forced to start with 2 extremely inexperienced CBs. It's not the players fault that we have no fucking centre forward atm. He has two weeks to fix the mess he's put us in, and if he doesn't it's going to be a long long season and will unfortunately lead to him finishing his career here an embarrassment.

You may see it that way sydcro and I understand but that team plus the bench was still a capable team for the day. Turning up under done sure is Arsene's and management issue but we also had players attending euro/copa also and your squad probably has had less changes compared to ours. We didn't start up a striker as well. You also came back so it's not all doom and gloom.

I don't doubt this will be a long season but I have to politely yet forcefully disagree that Arsene will finish his career ANYWHERE an embarrassment.

Instead of facing up to how shit we were we can now talk about how we almost came back, completely ignoring how we got ourselves into the position in the first place. Right now we are looking at one fit senior centre back with our club captain being out until after christmas, our other senior CB out for 2 months. Midfield is the only place we have any kind of strength because once again, unless something changes, we're going into a season relying on Olivier Giroud once again. The fact that this keeps happening year on year on year is a fucking joke and all down to one man and one man only.
