You're better off punting both of them and getting a left back who's actually good. Well yeah, what Klopp is doing I expect. I'm just going by the time to date developing these young guys, Smith particularly could turn out pretty solid but sure this may take another season or ?? but we need right now.

I'm very happy with the business so far.
If we offload Allen, Markovic, Alberto, Balotelli and Benteke then that's 100% satisfaction with sales from here.
Then we NEED to sign a LB. Anything beyond that is a bonus. Maybe another CM but Grujic looks like he'll be good enough to be an option and along with Can/Hendo/Milner I think that's enough with no Europe.

Thats for sure, were doing very well shifting excess and un wanted players off. Markovic Alberto Allen would be great to shift soon, Benteke may take longer than expected. I'm all for a good experienced LB. Thats why I was happy enough having Smith or anyone step in for Moreno is no better. Putting alot on Grujic stepping in at CM, sure has the potential but I couldn't expect him to handle it off the bat yet. I expect Can to take hold of CM but yer sure the kid could take to it like a duck to water lol.....

Allan Rodrigues de Souza is apparently going out on loan to Hertha Berlin. Good move, plus he doesn't qualify for a UK work permit yet. He spent time on loan in Finland, then Belgium for us last season.

Yep. Great move for him.
Flanagan to Burnley looks a done deal too.
And some interesting talk of Sakho being sent home due to bad behaviour. Klopp takes no shit

I'd really wish we would move Sakho out as well and get a more mobile replacement. Allen gone as well right ? Cheers Flanno and all the best.

Great to see Klopp clearing out the squad. There are so many average PL players or players that just won't get time there, that he inherited.
Skrtel, Toure, Smith (pity) gone is a good start. I really do not rate Moreno, Lallana, Lovren, Flanagan or Wisdom at all. Then there's Balotelli, Benteke and countless others. A massive overhaul is still needed.
I thought over the odds were paid for Mané tbh, but we'll see what he can do soon I guess.

Yes the sell out is going well Draup. Of all you have quoted I still have hope for Lovren, slim but worth giving him this season to do the business, if not time to move him. Lallana is a jekyll and hyde, thats his problem, not consistent, he does bring some x factor but needs to apply it week in week out, another that IF doesn't pick it up this season move on with Lovren. So, spirited game in the US vs chelsea. Fabragas sent off reckless challenge on Klavan, and just so, stupid studs up lunge ! 10min into the game Cahill heads one in, we had 3 defenders watching him run in climb and knocks it in, yep he held down one of ours but it was soft as ! Well taken free taken by Coutinho from angle edge of their box and good save unfortunately. Some nice compact passing gets Firminho through to score but called offside. Overall a hit out and more runs on the board towards fitness and building up combos.

So, 90k at Wembly vsing Barca friendly and welcoming back Louis. Who would have thought 4nil, Mane getting his first goal for LFC, not a back audience to open your account. One more pre game before 1st comp game of the season vsing the Gooners.

The game against Mainz starts in 30 mins. Liverpool team: Manninger, Alexander-Arnold, Wisdom, Matip, Moreno, Can, Henderson, Grujic, Lallana, Woodburn, Origi Substitutes: Mignolet, Clyne, Wijnaldum, Lovren, Coutinho, Firmino, Klavan, Mane, Toni Gomes, Brannagan, Ings, Stewart, Hart, Maguire, Markovic, Randall, Kelleher.
Excited to see more of Woodburn and Alexander-Arnold and Toni Gomes off the bench hopefully. Gomes is of immense talent like the rest who've been given a chance from the youth/u21's.
Milner is having scans and could miss the start of the season maybe. That could be a good thing (assuming we buy a another left-back). I've been much more impressed with Can, Grujic, Wijnaldum, etc.
Interesting to see that Woodburn, who was brought back into the team along with some others, is preferred over Ings, given that Can and Lallana are the only 2 who started the Barcelona game.

Well the last game above didn't end well. I suppose 24hrs after the Wembly game didn't help and a much changed line up as expected. No matter tbh, many have a had a run now to get ready for the 1st game against Arsenal this weekend.

No effort and they just used it as a means of gaining fitness.

I read they landed at 2am ! As well as players flying in that morn who hadn't played the Barca game so it sure wasn't a great prep lol..... As said, another run for those that needed it but Klopp did say they could have done better. Well roll on this weekend, I'm quite optimistic tbh giving the gooners a real test.

Not covering anything, we have won 1 of our last 6 opening day games including losses against West Ham and Aston Villa at home so that doesn't really matter.

I actually expected a draw and would have been mildly happy but despite shipping 3 goals those 4 goals were quality plus ! Seems the busy pre games had us primed and ready. What a spot kick by our brazilian and his double was sheer class as well. I hope we get a injury free season from the lad for he's our out and out creator of havoc. Mane, what a raid down the right cutting in and smashing it into the net, they left him to much room much of the game. Putting 4 past Cech don't happen very often thats how good those goals were. Our defense ????

Moreno has to go. Has to go right now. An absolute liability.
Have to admit I was wrong about Mane, didn't really want him but great in pre season and again yesterday.
Coutinho the little magician, thank god it's just cramp.
Klavan is boss, has a lot about him that I like.
Worried about CM, Can will always start when 100% but dont know who is partner(s) will be. Not sold on Gio playing so deep.
Great start to season

I have not been a Moreno fan near on the get go. Why is Klopp persisting with him has me fcuked - Smith would have been better imo or at least worth the risk till buying someone with more to bring. Window still open from memory. Surely he can't keep persisting with him grrrrr.. Mane, none of us were sure what he would bring but his pre season games showed he settled in pretty quick. Great debut game for he. He's magic our little Brazilian, won't surprise me as mentioned in time some pretty good offers made to him, they better hang onto him when the time comes ! Agree re the mids - but I think Klopp has faith in who he's got at present.

I think Mane is going to thrive under Klopps game plans, he'll obviously get better service compared to last years Saints as well. Our defense was crap having watched re viewed their last 2 goals.

Liverpool reportedly subject of a takeover bid backed by Chinese government
CHELSEA had their Roman Abramovich moment. Manchester City had their Abu Dhabi moment. Now reports are emerging that a bid from China from a corporation worth 31 times what Manchester City’s owner is worth is targeting an investment in Liverpool.Clubs being bought has become vogue across the globe in recent years but the latest reports from England have the ability to seriously change the landscape again - even if Liverpool’s current owners stand firm and, at most, only sell a minority share in the club, which is most likely.THE BREAKING STORY: Chinese investment looms at LiverpoolHere’s why.WHAT’S THE NEWS STORY?The Sunday Times reports that a £800m takeover bid for Liverpool, backed by the Chinese government, is ready to unleashed, with a preliminary bid having been tabled. If successful, it would make them the competition’s richest club. The timeframe mooted by the paper for a resolution is “in the coming weeks”.“China Everbright, a state-backed financial giant, is spearheading the attempt to buy the Anfield club from current owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) but the bulk of the money is expected to come from the China Investment Corporation (CIC),” reports Jonathan Northcroft in The Sunday Times.

Old news but for the record another good move Benteke shifted to Palace for $32mp...record for palace. Bet you he'll pay us back when we play them, ex players always seem to harm us. Well, a nice return putting in 5 against Burton in the EFL. Origi, Firminho, scored early. An own goal made it 3, with 20odd left to play Sturridge gets on and scores a brace. Matip made his debut for us. Lets hope we find the net this weekend compared to last week and our defense is solid.
