A few years late on this, but True Detective Season 1 is some of the best TV I've ever seen.

Yep, second that. Watched S1 a few times now. Still a great cop show.

Scary how you actually meet the SK so early on in the show.

Don't hold your breath on season 2. Watched 4 or 5 episodes now, and aside from a great shootout, it's kinda boring. Gonna have to finish it though.

Yeh season 2 didn't grab me either.

Season 1 was amazing. Especially that one scene. I think it was episode 5 or 6. You'd know the one I'm referring to. Probably one of the greatest ever shots of any television series ever.

Currently re-watching the first season for a third time, the casting could not have been any better. They both worked so well of each other and I think that is season 2s downfall. While the actors were good I just didn't really feel any love for them, the story was a bit meh as well. It was always going to be a incredible task to even equal season 1, I just lost interest half way through and barley finished to the end.

In an interesting way I'm glad they didn't use the same case and story for S2. S1 worked really well as a standalone, and I'm happy they didn't try to milk it.

Another amazing crime show, and probably one of my all-time favourite shows is Denmark's 'The Bridge'.

Hard to explain why it's so amazing. It's just very real and dark and gritty. Not unlike True Detective, but with more noir.

Not bad, there's one really artsy fartsy ep that just kinda annoyed me, its cinematography and music choices in that ep just raged me.

Rest has been pretty good, has been on a slow burn for the first half of the season though.

Did you catch it on Foxtel by any chance? They totally fucked up. They said after the 2nd last ep that the series was over, but then there was an entire ep to go afterwards! I actually changed the channel afterwards until I saw something online and realised. And yet these carnts control the A-League :P

And yes to Narcos. I need it. 

Versailles on SBS was surprisingly good. Not a era or country I've ever ever been particularly interested in, but it takes a much darker tone than your typical early modern show.

Nah streamed it online haha.

Ending was a  bit strange, was waiting for this crazy bait and switch to happen that never came, well bar the cat haha.

I really enjoyed the ending. Was quite satisfying. And one thing I especially liked was that instead of taking the 'happily ever after' route, it actually had a realistic ending which showed more character growth than you'll ever see in my stories.

Yeah, I'd just rather they had 2x 1 hour eps rather than 1x 1.5 hour ep and actually went after the other guy.

I wanted to see him on the stand and have Stones grill him lol.

Honestly thought the cat would play more of a role in the whole case, i.e. that cat's fur found on the other guys clothing etc.
