8 teams out of 11 to reach the 3rd stage of 2019 Asian Cup Qualifying
Playoff Round 1 - 1st Leg 2nd June 2016, 2nd leg 7th June 2016 - 5 winners through to the 3rd Stage of Qualifying (A) Maldives (150) vs Yemen (176) - rankings are per April FIFA rankings (B) Laos (182) vs India (162) (C) Tajikistan (164) vs Bangladesh (177) - these teams played each other in the recent Group Stage (Group B) (D) Chinese Taipei (181) vs Cambodia (182) (E) Malaysia (174) vs Timor-Leste (175) - these teams played each other in the recent Group Stage (Group A)
Playoff Round 2 - 1st Leg 6th Sep 2016, 2nd Leg 11th October 2016 - 3 winners through to the 3rd Stage of Qualifying (F) Loser of (A) vs Loser of (B) (G) Loser of (C) vs Bhutan (186th in April rankings) (H) Loser of (D) vs Loser of (E)
Surely with 2 bites of the cherry India may get through and looking ahead Bangladesh vs Bhutan seems fairly likely in Match (H)
- updated for April rankings

Looking at a lot of these countries and you have to say their participation, at this point, is largely academic.

The 3rd round will be a group phase won't it?
Looking forward to Kyrgyzstan. I think HK, Singapore and Myanmar will do well.

Kyrgyzstan should be seeded in Pot 1 (along with Jordan and the better teams) and unless they cop a very bad draw and play terribly would almost be a certainty to finish 1st or 2nd based on their form in the last 12 months. The main risk is the ACQ group games start in March 2017 and there is only 1 Match Day so "smaller" countries could lose form/momentum in the next 12-15 months.

Upcoming Friendlies for these teams
28/May Myanmar vs MALAYSIA
29/May CAMBODIA vs TIMOR-LESTE (a bit strange as they could play each other in the September/October playoff if they both lose in June)
Not sure if there are any planned for 30/31 May

Where is the world cup qualifying thread? I'm using a tablet. Do mobile devices limit the number of pages I can see?

Looks like chinese Taipei vs Cambodia and laos vs India are the most likely to be close ties after match day 1, I think East Timor vs MAlaysia is actually being played a day earlier than the other matches 2nd legs

The FFA (and probably China) should do something to get East Timor's stadium up to scratch.

They should be aiming not to finish bottom this time around and to get out of their group in the 2019 Asian Cup if the 2nd seeded team is relatively weak.
