We all watch the US election, but these days what the President of China does matters more. Just remember this - more than half the world's population lives in our immediate north and north west. In fact that's always been true. They fell behind for 200 years during the Industrial revolution and age of colonialism, but they have now caught up. It doesn't matter how many racist Hansonites there are in our country. China is our biggest trading partner. japan is second. India, China, Japan, Indonesia and south-east asia are growing and will be paying our wages for the next fifty years whether we like it or not. A peaceful and prosperous Asia means a peaceful and prosperous Australia. An Asia without peace and security is terrible for us. Trump's election is going to force a massive rethink of our foreign policy. If America led by Trump wants to blow up the Asian economy to restore their global hegemony, that's not in our economic or national security interests. The ANZUS alliance is a relic of a time when we feared Japanese militarism, and then communism. The only reason we hold onto the US alliance is that we fear that China's rise may not be peaceful, or that they will want to interfere in our political system. If we can trade with China while retaining our democratic political system and security, we'll be sweet. add the fact, China never had democracy.....let have a single party, that control the country, with out any right for the individual over the good of the state... Lost a lot of respect for the ABC News 24 breakfast host who was biased as fuck too. -PB ABC's coverage was incredibly weird, they started the delegate tally with 'safe states' already counted which showed Hillary way ahead, where as other stations were just tallying raw numbers. It's a sad state of affairs that ABC have become just as bad as HS or The Australian.

There is no doubt that both were poor candidates with many flaws, they were the two most unpopular candidates in 30 years. If you actaully look at the voting turnout it was around 53%, Trump had like 1 million less people turn up to vote for him compared to the one before, but the way he won it is that Clinton had even less people come out to vote for her. While Trump may have handled himself less well in public compared to Clinton early on, near the end he was on fire and had no stuff ups. Clinton started to crack near the end and really did not handle her self well publicly in regards to the email scandal when it reopened. He was being attacked 24/7 but handled himself very well compared to Clinton who had the media behind her back the whole way. His speech was graceful and sounded like a true President after winning yesterday, I think he will continue to surprise people and show he is calm and cool under pressure.

+x+x+xthe thing about today...is there far to many people who believe just because they was hard working, they should be living the life of easy now....that not how life work, in most of the world it really a state of mind, a state of happiness Make sure you let the middle aged uneducated and unemployed manufacturing workers know that their happiness is a State of mind. It will make them feel better and vote Clinton next time. lol there like 3% unemployed in USA...and most of those uneducated workers living in 100sq meter house with 2 cars , cable tv , and are fat from eating to much calories there very real poor, there very really unemployed, but that not who voted in most part probably a lot higher than 3% Some areas have close to 50% unemployment. And many of these unemployed are not counted in the statistics because they don't collect a benefit and hence aren't classified as jobseekers.
